This Should Be Interesting Chapter 3


Back at the CAC

Bette: (Coming out from a meeting, talking to her secretary ) That was f***ing boring, if it wasnt for the coffee you gave me I would have fell asleep. Franklin really knows how to start off the week.

James: Well I know how Mondays can be sometimes.

Bette: Yeah, so did I get any messages?

James: Um, Eric called *wink* , also a couple of new artist want to make an appointment to meet with you and a woman named Tina Kennard called from Alphaville and wanted to speak with you about using the CAC for a couple of scenes for a movie.

Bette: A movie? Well, this should be interesting.

James: Thats what I said.

Bette: OK, Ill call Eric later, and call those artists back and make an appointment so I can meet them first thing in the morning. As for Ms. Kennard, call her in about five minutes for me and transfer the call to my office so I can speak with her. I need a break.

James: Sure thing boss lady

Five Minutes later in Bettes office

James: (On the intercom) Bette? Ms. Kennard on line one.

Bette: Thanks James. (picks up the phone) Bette Porter here.

Tina: Good Afternoon Ms. Porter. My name is Tina Kennard from Alphaville.

Bette: Good afternoon to you too Ms. Kennard, what can I do for you?

(Ohh, I love that voice, I hope Alice is right)
Tina: I am a producer at Alphaville and we had to make some changes in our script for a movie that will begin shooting in about two weeks. So part of the changes we made also led to making changes for the places to shoot those scenes, so we thought that maybe the CAC would be the right place shoot.

Bette: So your asking me if you could borrow the gallery for a couple of weeks?

Tina: (Well maybe I could borrow you for a couple of weeks, what am I thinking, she thought) Yes I am. It would probably be a week and a half, but if everything goes well we will be out of there in about one week.

Bette: Well let me get with my boss on that and let me call the artists that have there art up in the gallery, and I’ll ask them if it would be okay if their work be shown in a movie. Im pretty sure that wouldnt be problem (with a small laugh).

Tina: (Ohh, I love that laugh) OK then, would you like to call me or can I call you (being a little flirtatious)

Bette: (Is she flirting with me?) Oh,.. well I will call you back as soon as I get an answer.

Tina: OK. Well Ill be expecting your call soon. You have a wonderful afternoon (with a little smile coming across her face)

Bette: Thanks, you as well. Bye.( feeling a little flustered)

After hanging up

Bette:(her hands were beginning to feel a little sweaty.) Why am I feeling this way? I actually have chills going through my body. I think she was flirting with me. Why would she do that, she doesnt even know me?… I think I just need to eat something. Yeah thats it I havent eaten yet.

Alphaville

Tina: Why was I flirting with her, I dont even know who she is? But just the sound of her voice and that laugh, it just made my stomach flutter. I hope everything falls into place so I can figure out what this is.

Later that afternoon Bette discussed the situation with Franklin and he thought that it would be a great idea. The artists also thought it would be okay if their work was shown in a movie. So Bette was given the ‘go ahead’ on the movie.

Back in Bette’s office….

Bette: (Pushing the intercom button) Hey James? Can you get Ms. Kennard on the phone for me?

James: Right away!

A few minutes later……..

James: Bette, Ms. Kennard on line one.

Bette: Thanks James. (picking up the phone) Hello again Ms. Kennard!

Tina: (With a big smile, Damn I love that voice!)Well, hello to you too Ms. Porter, it’s nice to here from you so soon (totally confident in herself).

Bette: Yeah well, I talked to my boss and the artists and it looks like you got your place.

Tina: That is great news!! So can I meet you tomorrow so we can figure out what we need to get started?

Bette: Yes, tomorrow afternoon about 1pm. I have meetings and appointments to tend to in the morning, so 1pm is the best that I can do.

Tina: Tomorrow afternoon at 1pm will do fine. Maybe after we take a look around, we could get a late lunch or early dinner? (Did I just ask her out?)

Bette: (A little caught off guard) Uhh…, yeah…I mean yes, I don’t think that would be a problem at all.

Tina: OK, great! Well I’ll see you at 1. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Bette: OK, bye.

After Bette hung up her stomach was doing flips and her hands were shaky) Why am I feeling this way? I never feel this way. (Denial setting in) Damn, I need to see a doctor or something, I need to figure out why I keep feeling this way.

Alphaville…

Bette was not the only one feeling this way. It was also a first for Tina, being the ‘ladies lady’ in West Hollywood, she was not sure where these feelings were coming from, but she knew she liked Bette already. Was she feeling this way because of Bette? “Well, I’m just gonna have to wait until tomorrow,” she said to herself.
