happy christmas day and hogmanay means……

Hogmanay is the night before New Years day. It is a Scottish tradition that the ‘first foot’ ( first person of the year inside your home) is tall dark and hansome and normally brings a piece of coal with them and some shortbread. Me thinks its because of old hard poor times!!!!!!!!! Hogmanay is massive in Scotland and the 2 big cities Glasgow and Edinburgh have fantastic street parties. This year I will celebrate hogmanay at a hotel party with my 3 girls. I cant wait. At the ‘bells’ everyone has a big kiss then sings auld songs.

It is 1.10 pm on Christmas afternoon. I have had Mark, (Eric), into visit, my sister and my brother. My dad is just off the phone and the courage you all give me with your comments helped me say no to him today, even if it was quietly. It snowed this morning!!!!!!!! The girls got just about every toy in the planet. The house is now quiet with the 3 of us and my other girl is with her mum. She will be round to see me after.

Hope santa is good to you all and I cant believe the places you all live. I bet you all have it very warm, except for you English birds……… love to you all
