Chapter 13 – Radar

Tina had ended her work day with the usual stress but feeling really good about herself for handling a potential explosive situation with Carol and Cindy and managing to keep it all positive. I like this Take Charge and be Able to Handle Problems person I have become. Tina thought.
Alice had left Tina a message on her cell saying she would be a little late and to head on out to the Planet without her she would catch up. Walking in, Tina spotted Dana holding down a table waving at her.
Dana: Tina, over here, its so good to see you out. I hate to say this and dont take me wrong but I feel so outside looking in now that everyone seems to be going in different directions. I never hear from anyone anymore. I havent seen Bette in almost a year. You, we dont see for weeks on end. And who knows what is up with Shane. She just disappears two or three times a week. I… I miss our family. Dana downloads all of this that Tina hadnt even sat down yet.
Tina: Im sorry Dana but what can I say it has taken me awhile to recover.
Alice walks up at that moment.
Alice: God Dana!!! Whats got into you? The girl just walked in. Cant you even say HELLO?
Dana: Ahh, hello, I can be such an idiot. Tina, Im sorry I guess Im just a feeling a little at loose ends. We all use to be so tight and now I feel almost left out. Can I ask you how things are going or better yet what can I get you at the bar now that I have put my foot in it.
Tina sitting down: Hey its OK. I know what you mean. Ive been on my own mission which means I been pretty much like a turtle with my head down trying to cross a six lane highway. You know, Im watching the cars go by but they are going so fast I cant cope with trying to recognize anyone.
Alice: Hey I thought we were coming here for a little fun. Anything else and Im going over to another table, Agreed.
Alice looks around and Dana and Tina both laugh and nod.
Alice: Good, now who needs a drink?
Just then Shane struts in and heads straight to the bar.
Alice: Im going to the bar and Ill catch Shane in the process.

At the bar
Alice: HO HO HO good looking, You remind me of a friend of mine but Shane usually at least says HI before she plows into the bar.
Shane looks up and sees Alice, smiles and just shakes her head. Just wrestling with some issues, nothing that drastic. Is everyone here?
Alice: Yep and the party starts NOW so let get started.
And with that the girls relaxed and enjoy each others company. It had been a long time since they where all together. The night goes on, Radar was what Tina expected, packed with women, lots and lots of noisy boisterous women. As the night wound down a slow song was playing and the words brought Tina to her first serious thoughts of Bette that night. Dance with me, sway with me, when we dance you have a way with me, stay with me, sway with me.. Oh God, I miss her.

Shane went home that night disturbed. This is not good. As soon as she walked in the door she called Kit. Kit we need to get together to talk. They agreed to meet at the Planet the next morning.
