Chapter 20 – The Plan

Dana walks into the Planet still blown away with all they had learned at Kits the night before. Dana felt in her heart that she had let Bette down in someway. This guilt was driving Dana to want to do something for Bette. Maybe if we could hook Bette and Tina up together so they could work out their issues, would be making up for the last year of just letting Bette go.
Dana immediately sees the girls at the table. Grabbing her java juice she heads over. Hey guys, hows it shaking this morning? With that Dana sits down and the whole gang does what they do every Sunday. They start catching up on everyones previous week and start looking ahead to what the new week will bring. Coordinating schedules, clients, stories and work outs takes at least two cups of coffee if not the occasional double latte. It was during the course of this conversation that Alice launches phase one of the plan.
Alice: Tina hows things going at work.
Tina: Well I think things are going nicely, the only cloud on the horizon is that the funding we had anticipated for the Crittin House seems to have gone up in smoke.
Shane: Really, thats too bad gosh I wish there was something we could do to help.
Alice: Yeah, Shane maybe we could do something.
Dana: I dont know what do you have in mind, Alice?
Alice: Now Im just thinking..out loud now.BUT what do you think about all of us putting together some sort of auction,..you know one of those silent auction things .. where you get famous people to donate things that they sign, and artist to donate works and stuff and we raise money for the Crittin House.
Dana: Real Cool Alice, you know I could get some signed stuff from some tennis stars I know and things.
Alice: Duh, Dana you could sign some tennis stuff yourself for us to sell.
Dana: You think?
Shane: You know, I have some high tipping clients which could donate some stuff.
Alice: I thing I could get the magazine to throw some stuff in and you know I could even ask the art critic if he knows of any up and coming artist who would donate to a good cause.
Tina: Do you guys really think you could get all this stuff together? But where would you have it?
Shane: Why not at the Crittin House, you could do an open house at the same time and give tours, you know have it catered with appetizers and stuff. What do you think Tina?
Tina considers the whole idea, liking what she heard.
Tina: If you guys can really come through, I say lets go for it. How long do you think it will take to get the stuff all together?
Alice: OK, I think I am just the person to run this sort of mission and you never know I might just get a story out of it. What do you say girls, could you get back to me with what stuff we can get is say two or three days and then we will see about when we can set this baby up?
With that the girls all agreed and phase one of the plan was set in motion.
