    This is my consequence

Shane stared out at the sunrise. She loved the way the golden light could bathe the city of angels and make it look so pure. Shane often wondered if those who were night people really chased the early hours of the morning, when the air sang with new promises. Promises that would inevitably be broken she thought bitterly.
Sighing she slipped off the hood of her truck and winced as her legs hit the ground. How long had she been sitting there?
Life wasnt as simple any more. This week had thrown it all to *****. Shane didnt want to think about that right now. In fact all Shane wanted to think about was going to sleep, that or a double espresso. She kicked aside one of her discarded beer bottles and got in behind the wheel, loving the feel of the slightly sun warmed seat against her shoulders.
Hearing the gravel crunch under her tires she pulled away and made her way down into the city.

Alice sat in her apartment, eyes red and weepy from a lack of sleep and crying. She couldnt begin to analyse this. She couldnt figure it out. Why had Dana turned away from her? Ever since that night, the one night where Alice was convinced that she was doing something right and good Dana had turned her away. At first she had managed to push it to the back of her mind, convincing herself that she had more important matters to attend to, namely, saving the world. She had attempted to ease Tina through some of her pain in the process, taking no notice as hers built. But now with Tina at her mothers there was no one for her to hide behind. Shane had been missing, Bette was at home but unable to talk and she sure as ***** wasnt about to go and spill her heart to Jenny.
She sighed and made her way to the Bathroom and splashed cold water on her face. As she looked at the broken woman who stared back at her from the mirror she vowed that today she would talk to Dana, willing or not, and try to get a grip of what the ***** was going on.

Bette lay on the couch and listened to Kit make coffee. The CAC had been trying to contact her for days after the success of provocations. But yesterday afternoon the phone stoped ringing. Bette had a suspicion that Kit had called and explained to them that her sister was uh unwell and would contact them when she felt up to it. She was the gallerys golden girl, they were willing to back off in the face of illness. God was that all she wanted to think about? The ***** CAC and the success of provocations? She knew that she was simply trying to avoid thinking about Tina because it hurt so damn much. And the worst thing was that Bette knew that she was the one to blame. She was the sole reason for their problems. She was the one who had gone out and tried to fill the void of love with *****. She was the one who had lost control.
Bette got up and had a shower, letting the steaming hot water pound some sort of sense of reality into her. When she emerged she had the appearance of someone with a degree of composure. Not a very high degree mind you. She nodded to Kit and grabbed her keys and sunglasses from the counter.
As she climbed into the Saab she paused. God what had happened to the powerful Bette Porter? The woman who looked at a problem and fixed it without batting an eyelid. Where had that woman gone? And then Bette remembered the last time she had been angry and powerful. A single tear left its glistening path down her cheek dropping with out a sound.

At the first rays of the morning sun Dana lay awake under Tonyas arm, facing away from her fianc. She no longer felt the glowing warmth from lying next to the woman that she once did. Dana wasnt sure what her feelings were but it didnt take a genius to figure out that the warmth had been missing since the night that Alice had stood on her door step. She didnt know if what she was feeling was as a result of her feeling guilty about not being able to tell the woman that she loved the truth about what had happened, or (and she had deep suspicions about this one) if it was more a case of the fact that the woman she loved was no longer Tonya. She knew that she had avoided Alice. Dana had found a way to make sure that every moment she spent out of the house was at practice and to not answer any of Alices calls to her cell. She didnt know why she was running away it was just that confronting Alice didnt feel right. Sighing to herself she slipped from under the white sheet that was covering them both and padded her way out of the room her head a mess of thoughts constantly chasing one another in circles.

Tina knew that she had run away. She wasnt going to tell herself otherwise but right now she needed space, she needed to breath and she couldnt do that while being suffocated by the pain waiting in L.A. She allowed herself to drift back into the sanctuary of sleep knowing that here she was safe.

The Planet was happily humming away with its usual morning rush, Full of activity but still quiet with plenty of spare tables.
They were a sight to see. As each Lady made her way to their regular table it was impossible not to notice. Shane, Alice, Dana and Bette arriving in that order. No one spoke aside from the mumbled greetings as they all sat and waited for their drinks.
