Tina went to the bathroom and brought the stick back out on a paper towel. The couple sat on the couch holding hands. Waiting to find out if they would be parents. Bettes heart filled with love and hope. Tinas heart filled with love”yes love and hope but guilt too.

The stick changes to pink right before their eyes. Oh my God Tina”were going to be moms. I love you thank you for doing this for us. God I love you so much. Bette pulls Tina in a loving embrace as she cries tears of absolute joy. Tina looks at Bette and sees the love of her life and her tears quickly become sobs of agony. She cant keep this to herself she feels like a hypocrite. Bette looks at Tina and recognizes how upset she is. She realizes Tinas tears may be something else. Whats wrong babe? Hey its okay”were going to be great parents and Im sure the pregnancy will be fine. Shh Shh.-Tina
Tina: Betteno its not that”its not the baby Im so HAPPY about the baby. I love you Bette and Im in love with you too.
Bette: Then baby whats wrong? (Pulling her into a tight embrace)
Tina: II did something tonight. It was wrong and I cant explain why I did it. You have to believe me when I say I love you and Im in love with you. You believe me right?
Bette: Tina”T Im getting scared baby tell me whats going on.
Tina: You believe me right?
Bette: (her mind racing”she stiffens her body) Yeah T. I believe you.
Tina: II kissed Simone tonight. But Bette it didnt mean anything. I was just in a state I was feeling sad thinking about the last opening Provocations and
Bette: (interrupts) Okay you thought or Provocations and kissed Simone.
Bette quickly stood up from the sofa and distanced herself from Tina. Bette felt like she was in a bad dream. The woman Tina warned her about time and again Tina kissed? How could this have happened? Bette stood there and looked at Tina and then back at the positive pregnancy test.
Bette: Tina do you love me? Are you really still in love me with me? Please dont say what you think I want to hear tell me the truth.
Tina: Oh dear God yes BETTE I absolutely love you. It was just a moment I dont know why. I couldnt keep it from you, not now. We are about to become parents and I dont want any secrets. Besides Shane saw us and I dont want her to tell you later. She said it wasnt hers to tell but you never know. I just hate secrets.
Bette: So are you telling me to beat Shane to the punch or are you telling me because you dont want us to have any secrets?
Tina: Look tonight I did something that I dont quite understand. All I KNOW FOR CERTAIN IS I LOVE YOU AND NO ONE ELSE. Please forgive me PLEASE.
Bette sits down in the chair opposite Tina. She looks again at a distraught Tina and the positive pregnancy test. This is my life in this room. I love this woman more than life itself. Shes forgiven me for so much more. I have to be with her”there is no other choice. Bette reasons with herself.
Bette: Tina do you have any feelings for Simone?
Tina: No I dont I never will. Its you Bette. Its always just you. Believe me”you have to.
Tina gets up and falls to her knees in front of Bette whos now crying– and these arent tears of joy. She wants to believe Tina she has to for her own hearts sake.
Bette grabs Tina and pulls her from her knees as she stands.
Bette: Tina youve forgiven me for so much more. I know you love me”I do so baby wipe those tears and Ill wipe mine. We are okay”well be okay.
Tina: (smiling in relief) Thanks Bette I dont know how or why I felt so bad but I will promise you this. I will never share your kisses with anyone else. I love you and only you forever.
Tina holds onto Bette as if her life depends on it. She is so relieved that Bette has agreed to forgive her for this first and last time indiscretion. Tina vowed to herself she would never allow herself to be so vulnerable with anyone other than Bette”never!

Bette: T its been a long day. I just want to go to bed now and have you hold me tonight. Is that okay?
Tina: Yes baby”thats perfect. Bette please know that Im yours and yours alone. Im so sorry.
Bette: Tina I believe you. Lets talk about it more in the morning okay.
Tina: Okay (she leans in to give Bette a kiss)
Bette at first moves towards Tina but hesitates as she thinks of Simone kissing Tina her heart begins to ache”but for Tinas sake she relents and kisses her wife quickly on the lips and heads for bed.

As the lovers lay on their bed Tina holds Bette and quickly falls to sleep. Bette isnt so lucky she begins to think of what could have caused Tina to do something so out of character. She wanted to believe Tina and she wanted to believe the things she said to Tina. Tina had forgiven her for so much more”right? She had been forgiven? Bette contemplated all of this then it occurred to her Shes only the most beautiful woman in the world Tina was attracted to Simone the first time she saw her. Those words rang in Bettes mind and she felt herself feeling totally lost. After all this time I thought Tina was happy”maybe she isnt happy with me”not even the loving open me. Bette continued to think until she felt an urge to leave. She looked over at her sleeping wife as she pried herself from Tinas embrace. I gotta get out of here Bette whispered. She didnt want Tina to worry so she wrote her a note.

Bette knew it was late but she knew Kit was probably still at Radar she hoped shed still be there. As she drove around the lot she spotted Kits car and breathed a sigh of relief. When Bette got inside Kit was still talking with a guy that she assumed was the producer Kit had mentioned earlier. Bette waved to get her attention so Kit would know she was there and Kit nodded and raised her finger letting Bette know shed be there as soon as she could. Bette sat down at the bar and soon one drink turned into six shots and Bette was three sheets in the wind by the time Kit made it over to her.
Kit: What are you doing baby girl? You dont drink like this, no one should.
Bette: Kit tonight I found out Im going to be a mom. Tinas pregnant.
Kit: Oh Bette thats beautiful. Im so happy for you two. Why are you here? Shouldnt you be at home with you wife celebrating?
Bette: Yes youd think that. I thought that too. (Bette slurred)
Kit: Wellwhats wrong?
Bette: Tina kissed Simone tonight. She told me about it and said she was sad about Provocations and remembering about me and Candace”she found out that night.
Kit: Oh well that was along time ago. You guys are so much better now. Youre much better now.
Bette: Kit, will it ever go the*uck away? (Bettes starts to cry but remembers shes at a bar and tries to straighten up right away.)
Kit: Oh sweetie yes you two need to talk this out when youre sober. Look Mike”the producer is still here. I cant leave now. Do you want a cab back to your house?
Bette: No I left Tina a note. I dont want to go home drunk can I stay with you tonight.
Kit: Yeah but I may be awhile. Shanes here she can take you to my place. Sweetie you and Tina wont break up over this will you?
Bette: I hope not”shes the love of my life. Shes what I love most about living. (Bette said with a weak smile.)
Kit sat there and looked at her sister realizing that in the last few months she had become a more open person and she knew the alcohol induced statement was just that but at the same time she knew the old Bette wouldnt look at things so poetically. Shane had been drinking too but not nearly as much. Before Kit went back to Mike she went over to Shane and asked her to take Bette to her apartment and gave her a spare key.
Shane: Oh God Tina told her about the kiss?
Kit: Yes, how did you know?
Shane: I walked in on it.
Kit: I see. Do you think thats why Tina fessed up thinking youd tell Bette?
Shane: Maybe. I told her I wouldnt tell her. I didnt want to bring Bette that kind of pain.
Kit: Please take her home and give her plenty of water and make her drink some coffee too.
Shane approaches her drunk friend and realizes shes never seen Bette drunk before. Shes a little amused by the sight.
Shane: Okay thats enough for you. (Shane helps Bette to stand from the barstool.)
Bette: Shane SHANE you knew and you didnt tell me. SHAME ON SHANE. SHAME SHANE”shame (Bette whispered the last shame.)
Shane: Bette I didnt want to hurt you. I believed Tina would eventually tell you.
Bette: Im going to be a mom Shane did I tell you? My beautiful pregnant wife kissed another woman tonight”a woman she once refffferdd to as the most beautiful woman in the world. (Bette slurred)
Shane lets go. With that Shane loaded a VERY drunk Bette into her truck and drove to Kits.

Twenty minutes later Alice strolls into Radar, looking for Bette and finding Kit spinning at the turn tables.
Alice: Hey have you seen Bette?
Kit: Yes she came in upset and got a little drunk I had Shane take her to my place.
Alice: Tina called she woke up, upset she told me what happened”you know what happened right?
Kit: That Simone chick kissed Tina.
Alice: Yeah but the problem is Tina kissed her back and Shane saw it all. I know Tina and Bette will work through this”they have too. Theyve been through bigger problems than this. But Kit did you know Shane dumped Megan tonight?
Kit: No. Its a bad night for couples. I thought Shane was really into Megan. She didnt even mention it.
Alice: According to Tina Shane broke up with her because she may still has feelings for Bette”at least thats what Megan said to Shane in front of Tina.
Kit: What did Shane say?
Alice: Shane says she didnt want to be with someone one who keeps disrespecting her best friend.
Kit: Alice do you think I should have sent them to my apartment together? Bettes really drunk”you of all people know how she is when shes drunk.
Alice: I think you may have made a pretty big mistake. Im heading over there now.
Kit: Please hurry we dont need to compound this problem anymore. Ill be there as soon as I close up.

Alice literally ran out the Planet knowing Bette gets very frisky when shes drunk and totally free of any inhibitions. Alcohol is like a truth serum and an aphrodisiac for the woman and if Shane has any feelings for her this is the worlds worse combination. Alice thought to herself as she floored the mini through the streets of West Hollywood.

At Bettes and Tinas

I knew she took it too easily. She has to know how much I love her. I will give her some time. I know well get through this. Ill fight for her if I have to. Shes my life. Tina wept as she held Bettes pillow tight in an embrace getting lost in Bettes scent.

At Kits

Shane had given Bette a bottle of water and tried to figure out how to make coffee in Kits fancy coffee maker. She was failing miserably.
Bette: Shane thanks for taking care of me. You always take such good care of me.
A very affectionate drunk Bette walked over to Shane and pulled her into a hug and nuzzled her face into Shanes neck. Shane was taken aback for a moment and then she became frightened because then right there she felt an arousal begin to creep through her body. My God Im in so much trouble. Shane thought to herself.


Alice pulls up to Kits apartment.
