Alice woke up only about one hour later, when the doorbell rang. Dana was still asleep with her head on Alices shoulder. Oh, *****! Alice mumbled before slowly getting out of bed. She was careful not to wake Dana up, so she just grabbed a pair of briefs and a tank top and went down stairs. She opened the door and found Shane on the doorstep. Shane looked at her with amusement Morning. she went passed Alice and into the living room. Alice stumbled after her. Shane, some people are actually asleep in this time of day! Shane sat down on the couch and looked at her. Have you even had time to check your watch? Wheres Dana by the way? Shes sleeping. Alice informed Shane. No Im not Dana came down the stairs. No one can sleep with the two of you chattering away. Alice smiled widely towards her as Dana took a seat next to Shane. What were the two of you talking about anyway? She looked first at Alice and then at Shane. Um. I have no idea. Alice shook her head. I tried to get Shane to understand that some people are actually sleeping at this time. Al, its 2 in the afternoon. Dana informed her. Well, we were asleep, yknow. You were sleeping as a rock. Yea, well, I was up at 5 this morning. Ah, um, the famous tennis player was up at 5 this morning, but the ***** ***** was still asleep. Alice grinned towards Dana. I do not have multiple personalities, thank you very much. Dana snapped. Shane was watching the two lovers with an amused expression on her face. Hey guys, this is gonna work out real good, the two of you already sound like youve been married for 25 years! She grinned at the both of them. Alice and Dana looked at each other and laughed a little. So, Shane, what brings you here anyway? Alice asked curiously. Well, um, I was on my way home and I thought that Id swing by and see you guys. Shane smiled widely at them. Ah. Why did I even ask? I know I dont want the answers you give me. Alice smiled at her, yet with a look on her eyes saying she was about to kill her friend. So, whats happening here? Shane laid back in the couch and put her feet up on the table. Hey, Shane, why dont you make yourself comfortable? Alice grinned at her, leaving the living room to go in to the kitchen. Dana looked at Shane and then followed her lover. Alice was standing by the fridge, looking for something to eat. Dana walked up behind her and put her hands around her waist. She kissed Alice on the cheek before whispering to her. Hun, are you mad? No, Dane, Im not mad. She kept looking for something to eat. You seem mad. Dana continued. I promise we can continue what we were doing when Shanes left. Its not about that, Dana. Alice squirmed out of Danas grip and put a bottle of milk at the table. Dana was surprised and somewhat hurt over Alices reaction. Then what is it? She looked at Alice who was now putting a box of cereals at the table. She lowered her voice a little. Do you not want to be with me anymore? She looked down at the floor. Alice froze for a moment. Does Dana think I dont want to be with her? She thought. I always knew she was vulnerable, but not that she was this vulnerable. She went up to Dana and put one hand under her chin and made her look into her eyes. I love you Dana Fairbanks. Of course I want to be with you. She kissed her lover lightly. Its just I feel weird when were not alone. Like were doing something were not allowed to. Dana put her hands on Alices hips. So, you wanna take it slow, or what? Alice looked into Danas beautiful blue eyes. I just have to get used to it, yknow. If thats okay? She stroke back a lock of Danas hair from her face, and put it behind her ear. Dana smiled at her. Of course thats okay. I dont want you to do something youre not comfortable with. Um.. I I just Err Are you ashamed or something? To be with me I mean? I know Im not the coolest person in the world, but Dane. Alice snapped. I am not ashamed to be with you. If anything Im proud. I cant believe I am the person who you chose to be with. And you are fine just the way you are. Better than fine, you are great! And I love you so much, just because of who you are. You are my goofy, dorky, Dana. Okay? She looked straight at Dana who smiled a little towards her. Okay. Alice embraced her and gave her a little kiss. So, do you want something to eat? She asked. I have milk and cereals. Sure, thats good. Shane! Do you want cereals? Alice yelled. Nah, thanks, Im good! Shane yelled back from the living room. Alice and Dana went in to the living room and sat down beside Shane in the couch. Shane peered at the two still with her feet on the table. So, guys, do you wanna get out tonight? Im having a party. Youre having a party? Alice grinned at her. Where? Okay, its not really my party, but its my roomies. Remember ***** the night? Dana and Alice nodded. Well, this is gonna be ***** the sequal. Alice and Dana looked at each other. Actually Shane, I have to get up early tomorrow, cause I have a game. You know how it is. Im sorry though. Dana excused herself. Hey, thats cool. How about you Al? Um. Err. I I think Im just gonna spend time with Dana, since shes going on a tour soon and all that, yknow. Okay. Sure. Your loss. Shane grinned at them. Hey, you think Tina want to come? It would be good for her, right? Yea, Shane, it would be good for her. Alice agreed. Hey, where is she by the way? Um. Shes at the centre. At the centre? Shes back to work? Dana was surprised over the news. Yea, she said that it was gonna take her mind off of some things. I guess it will Alice gazed into space. Hey, maybe we all should just stop waltzing around this now. Its time for the both of them to get back together. Any ideas on how to do that? Al, that is not our business. Dana turned to face Alice. Its gonna take them some time. They were together for 7 years. Yeah, and all Im saying is that they have many happy years in front of them. Shane grinned at Alice. Al, just leave them alone. If they get back together it should be because they want to, not because we want them to. Okay, okay. Its just I mean theyre just So unhappy without each other. Alice stared down at the floor. Honey, I know you mean well, but they will have to fix this on their own. All we can to is be here for support and understanding. Dana put her hand on Alices. Well, sorry guys, but I have to go now. Shane took her feet down the table and rose from the couch. I guess I wont see you tonight then. No. Sorry. Dana hugged her friend. Its okay, you do what you have to do. Kick some ***** tomorrow. Thanks. Shane walked pass her. I might swing by tomorrow. She said standing before Alice. Okay. See you then. Bye guys, take care! Shane started to walk towards the door. Be nice. Dana told her before Shane was out of the apartment. Alice and Dana looked at each other, and there was a moment of silence. None of them knew what to say. Um. So Dana looked at Alice. Do you want to get back in bed? Yea, thats be good. They walked upstairs and laid down again. Alice was lying on her back and Dana was lying with her head on Alices shoulder. Alice played with Danas hair. So, when do you have to get up tomorrow? Um. At 6 Dana was once again drawing circles on Alices stomach with her fingers. pm? Al, am, of course! Wow, I didnt know that we had a 6 in the morning. Dana laughed a little. Well, we do. And you are getting out of bed at that time tomorrow too toy know! Me? Wha? Whe? Why? Because youre coming with me Dana kissed Alices shoulder. Wont that mean? Yup. And you want that? Yup. Wow. Alice sighed. Then Im officially Dana Fairbanks plus one. Dana laughed at her. No, then youre actually Dana Fairbanks plus girlfriend. If you want to of course. She added fast. I mean, if you think its too fast No, its okay, I can handle it. I can handle anything with you by my side. Alice kissed Danas forehead. Dana moved up a little so she could kiss Alice on the lips. Lets get you out of these clothes. Dana mumbled to her, before continuing kissing her down the neck and the rest of Alices body.
