Tina walked up to Bette and leaned in laying a smouldering kiss on Bettes lips For old time sake Tina thought before turning around and walking away, leaving Bette standing on the porch breathless and confused.

Chapter 7

Tina just kept walking; she didnt dare look back. Her heart was completely broken, her emotions so scattered in her head and so intense that her whole body was involuntarily shaking.

She could still feel Bettes lips on her own. No matter what had happened in the past, she could always feel Bettes love in the way she kissed her and tonight was no exception.

Tina got in her car and just drove, aimlessly. Realizing she was extremely drowsy and had nowhere to stay, she decided to call Shane hoping to just crash at her place for the night.

In her haste to leave the caf earlier, she hadnt acquired Alices number. Tina didnt want to bother her either, having no idea what Alices life consisted of now!!

Tina knew she had to a tough decision to make in the morning. She had to decide if she could handle staying there, in West Hollywood, returning somewhat to her old life. Perhaps seeing Bette with her.. family, every day, could her heart really take that?

All Tina knew right now is she needed some rest. That decision could be left until the morning. She dialled Shanes number.

Shane answered the phone giggling, Hello?

Tina realizing she was interrupting Shane, (shyly) Umsorry Shane. I…

Shanes voice became serious, (interrupting) Tina. is that you? Are you ok? Whats the matter? What can I do? Please Tina, talk to me?

Tina: (hesitantly, vaguely) UmWould you be able to let me stay at your place tonight? After all that happened to me today. I forgot to find a place to stay and I think its late. I dont want to intrude though?

Shane could hear the pain and hopelessness in Tinas voice and knew that only one person could have had so much affect on her, (compassionately) Oh God Tinayou saw Bette right?(knowing the answer) Listen of course you can stay here. Come over right now. Do you know how to get here? The address is on my card. Tina was pulling up outside Shanes as they spoke.

Tina: (quietly) Thank you Shane! I wont bother you I just need some sleep.

Shane: Dont be silly come on over.

Shane got off the phone and was explaining the situation to Toni when Tina knocked on her door.

Shane and Toni both got out of bed and dressed. That was quick Shane casually spoke.

Shane: Im sorry babe! You understand right. I really think Tina needs me!

Toni: (walking over to Shane lightly kissing her on the lips) Its cool sweetie. You call me if you need anything, ok. (cheekily) But I do expect you to make it up to me tomorrow! winking at Shane.

Shane swatted Toni on the *****, grinning, Thats a promise babe!! and they walked to the front door.

Shane opened the door and what she saw made her heart ache. She saw her friend standing before her, with a look of utter loss and despair etched all over her face.

Shane immediately encased Tina in a comforting embrace, quietly waving goodbye to Toni as she headed out the door, mouthing, Ill call you babe. Toni saw the look on Tinas face and realized instantly that Tina did need her friend!

Shane guided Tina over to her couch and just held on tight to Tinas shivering body. She sat quietly waiting for Tina to be ready to talk.

Tinas body felt numb, like nothing mattered anymore. After a while with Shane comforting her, rubbing her hands up and down Tinas back, Its ok Tina, Everythings going to be ok! Tinas body stilled and Shane loosened her embrace.

Tina looked into Shanes eyes and quietly whispered, I saw Bette Shane. I know! as if by whispering Tina could pretend this was all just one big nightmare and she would wake up any minute.

Shane: (sorrowfully) So Tina, you know about Bettes little boy. (hesitantly) and Kristie?

Tina just nodded sadly.

Shane: What did Bette say when you spoke to her?

Tina: (sniffing) I just couldnt. She has a different life now Shane! I am not going to be responsible for taking a mother away from her child!! I need to respect Bettes choice.

Shane: (adamantly) Bette didnt make a choice Tina. She thought you did……………… But you didnt make a choice either, did you? It was taken away from you too Tell her what happened to you, and what you want Tina? Give her a chance to decide for herself.. to choose for herself. There are a lot of things I bet you dont know about the last 5 years and our Ms Porter…….. Let her tell you, you need to know all the facts first!!.

Tina: (dejectedly) Ill see Shane? I dont even know if I know what I wantand I dont know if I can stay here and watch Bette and. Kristie, live the life that I was. . Tina began crying. She couldnt complete her sentence.

Shane: (pulling Tina into her, hugging her tightly) Tina just talk to Bette!!Kristie is a really nice woman; she actually reminded me of you at first and Bette does love her(Tina cried a little louder at the admission). But you and Bette, you two were something else entirelyyou were meant to be! We all could see that!!

Tina: Yeah exactly Shane WERE meant to be. emphasising the past tense!

Tinas head was beginning to pound and she knew she had a lot to think about, (appreciatively) I think I need to get some sleep if you dont mind Shane. I have a splitting headache and I have some tough decisions to make tomorrow! (looking into Shanes eyes) Thank you so much for letting me stayThanks for being a good friend Shane!!

Shane: (smiling) Tina I always will be It will all be ok!

Bette composed herself and made her way home, her thoughts overcrowding her confused mind.

God I am in so much trouble. Bette thought to herself. She could still feel Tinas lips on her own. How she had longed for those lips for such a long time

Tina had demanded that Bette move on with her life and never see her again, in the letter she had received, so long ago now. Bette had tried so hard to do just that. She thought she at least owed Tina that much, to leave her alone If I had only known, Bette though despondently.

Her lifeher current existence was based on that letter. The letter that, Tina hadnt sent, the letter that was apparently sent by mistake. Her life was based on a mistake

One thing was for sure; Jack was no mistake!!! He was the one that made Bettes life worth living again and she was always going to do what was best for him!

I have to talk to Tina thoughI need to understand God, if I hadnt have cheated in the first place none of this wouldve happened. Tina wouldnt have lost 5 whole years. I wouldnt tears began to trickle down Bettes face.

Bette thought adamantly, Ive given myself to Kristie now I love Kristie now, dont I? . Of course I do!!! She was so patient, willing to wait for me, and she didand Jack absolutely adores her! Were a family now! Bette entered her home with that last thought fresh in her mind, smiling.

Jack had long gone to sleep and Kristie was eagerly anticipating Bettes return.

Edgy and insecure she came out of the bedroom to greet Bette as soon as she heard the door open, with only a lacy black bra and panties on. Kristie in her own right was a beautiful woman. She was 35, 59, straight long golden blonde hair, baby blue eyes and a body that most budding models would die for.

Kristie had dimmed the lights in the lounge and had a few strategically placed scented candles burning around the house, creating a romantic ambience.

Kristie momentarily broke away, breathlessly talking to Bette, afraid to ask but having to know. Bettehoneyis everything ok?

Bette: (smiling reassuringly) Yeah, it will be!

Kristie: (seductively) Good baby..(sliding Bettes jacket off, and taking her hand) How about we go to bed. Jacks all tucked in for the night and I want to show you how much I love you!

Bette: (sexily) “Youre on baby. Just let me go and kiss Jack good night.

Kristie: (whispering in Bettes ear) Ok baby, but hurry up.

Bette went in and gave her son a big kiss goodnight; she then made her way to her bedroom and. her future?

Bette made love to Kristie, the woman she now loved, trying her hardest not to think about Tina. Trying to alleviate all of Kristies concerns and insecurities, by showing her as much love as she could; while her own concerns and insecurities were tormenting her mind and her soul. (Authors note: Sorry girls I cant write a ***** scene with Bette and no Tina.. I just cant!)

Hours later Kristie had been thoroughly loved, lying exhaustedly in Bettes arms, (completely content) I love you so much Bette!

Bette: (sincerely) I love you too Kristie!

Bette lay in bed just holding her lover. About half an hour later she was having trouble sleeping.. no matter how hard she tried, she couldnt put her troubled mind to bed.

She felt Kristies breath evening out and Bette knew she was fast asleep; Bette skilfully and quietly untangled her body and got out of bed.

She went and sat in Jacks room, next to his bed and just stared lovingly at her son.

Bette whispered, (tears in her eyes) We were just beginning to find happiness little man, when I never thought we ever would, and now I just dont know anything anymore. I want whats best for you baby! You are what matters most!

Bette looked intently at Jacks facial features as he slept. He was definitely her son, the resemblance was undoubtedly there, but as he grew older Bette was noticing he was looking more like his father, the darkened skin, the deep brown eyes..yes he looked more and more like Marcus Allenwood every day!!..
