Tina wrapped her arms around Bettes neck and glanced at her watch. I hate to tell you this but if we dont leave right now well be late for Dr. Wilson.

Bette snapped out of her sulking gaze, oh youre right Tina.

Tina saw Bettes entire demeanor change a genuine smile quickly appeared on Bettes beautiful face at the thought of seeing their baby.
Tina kissed Bette tenderly on the lips, she couldnt resist. Im sure everything will be okay”all of it– all of us. (Tina places Bettes hand over her womb.)

Bette: Im sure youre right Tina. She planted a deep love-filled kiss on Tinas mouth before they headed off to meet bump Kenter.

As the couple drove to Dr. Wilsons office to meet Bump Kenter the ladies both wore beaming smiles and rode in silence both lost in their thoughts of being moms.

After Bette parked the car she turned off her cell phone she got out of the car and held Tinas hand. Just before walking into the building she gently pulled Tina in for a warm loving embrace. Bette whispered, Thank you, thank you for giving us this gift for wanting to do this again and for believing in me and us enough to do this. I just need you to know that Im completely in love with you. You are the love of my life and I never want you to forget that”EVER. Tina stood in complete awe, those words and this tender embrace this moment; she wanted to etch in her memory forever. This is why she loved Bette. Bette gave her exactly what she needed before Tina knew she needed it. Tina was overwhelmed with emotion and love she leaned in and brushed her lips against Bettes with love and tenderness. Sometimes you leave me speechless and I forget how blessed I am to be loved by you. The way you love me babe, its better than I could ever dream, thank you and know you are completely loved too.

With that the couple entered the building signed in and patiently waited to be called back. Hand in hand they sat in silence and excitement waiting and waiting for what seemed like forever. In reality it was less than ten minutes.

Dr. Wilson: Ladies come on back. Im excited for you two. Lets confirm these results and see your baby.

As they approached the examination room Bette began to fidget, shed just now become nervous. Tina noticed Bette playing with her cuff and cufflinks on her blouse and then she began fumbling with the hem of her skirt. Tina started to chuckle as she laid back on the table. Babe its okay, everythings okay, calm down. Ive never seen you this nervous, its kind of cute but Bette youre beginning to make me nervous. Bette looked up at Tina and smiled a weak smile. Is it that obvious? Dr. Wilson and Tina laughing answered, Yes. Tina looked at the doctor and they both laughed Bette just smiled back at both of them.

Tina: Babe, just remember to breath everything is ok.
Bette: Right T thanks. Breath. I can do that.

Tina grabbed Bettes hand and kissed it.

Dr: Wilson: Ok ladies you ready? Tina, are you comfortable?
Tina: Yes
Dr: Wilson: Ok heres the gel. Ok Tina I need you to move down just a little more ah thanks. Now Im going to insert the probe.
Bette leaned in and kissed Tinas forehead and squeezes her hand. She repositioned herself so she could see the monitor.
Dr. Wilson: Ok ladies here we go.
As the image appeared on the monitor she moved the probe until she saw what she anticipated. Ah there we go ladies a heartbeat there is your babyoh my,ummmummm. Dr Wilson stammered.

Tina: Is there something wrong?
Bette: (Panicked) Dr. Wilson ummmummm what does that mean? Is there something wrong?
Dr. Wilson: No”nothings wrong, but there are two heartbeats ladies here you see this?
Dr Wilson adjusted the probe to make the image clearer and sure enough there were two.
Dr. Wilson: Ladies you are having twins.

Bette looked at the images lovingly and then looked at Tina who looked flushed. Bette brought her eyes back to the monitor and smiled broadly. Tina sighed deeply, already laying down—she, she fainted.

Bette, Bette once only moments ago a nervous wreck seemed ecstatic”thrilled, Twins, twins oh wow! she shouted. Bette looked, Oh Dr. Wilson”has Tina fainted?
Dr. Wilson: Oh dear hold on.
Dr. Wilson reached in her pocket and pulled out smelling salts to revive Tina—it worked.
Tina: (Coming to) Dr. Wilson diddid, did you say twins?
Bette: (Happily) yes T were having twins.
Tina: Its just a lot at once babe.

It was Bettes turn to try to calm Tina. BabyT, diapers babe were just getting a jump start on the whole lot of kids we said we wanted. I know it wont be easy but Tina it will be so worth it. I love you. Everything IS great baby. Dr. Wilson quietly excused herself giving the couple time to get used to the idea of having two bundles of joy.

Bette: Tina Im so going to spoil you and our babies. Please, T, dont worry.
Tina: I cant believe youre ok with this. I just, dont you think everything will be too much?
Bette: I have to tell you something. The way I see it there are two of us and two of them. This way Ill be able to be more involved, holding them, feeding them, changing them, bathing them. You arent expected to do any of this alone you wouldnt be expected to do it alone if there had been one baby either but this way I feel more needed, more useful, more involved. I know thats selfish but
Tina: (Interrupting) Thats anything but selfish you are so thoughtful babe. When you put it that way the next time we get pregnant I hope we have twins then too.
Bette: Whoa babe lets slow down and get these here first. With you talking like that we need to get Dr. Wilson back in here with her smelling salts before I faint too.
Tina laughed, Dont worry babe Im only half joking.

Dr. Wilson heard the laughter and rejoined the couple and briefed them on what to expect and gave them prenatal vitamins. She also tried to ease any residual concern they may have had about the outcome of their first pregnancy. She was successful; when the couple left they were happy and excited. Bette felt she would explode she wanted to tell someone. They drove in silence until Tina spoke up.
Tina: Should we tell the girls? They will be shocked and excited for us?
Bette: If I dont tell someone I think I might explode T. I cant remember ever being this excited. Hey babe your work schedule”what do you want to do?
Tina: I want to work as long as I can this time. When they get here I hope I can do something from home part-time but that may be wishful thinking. Oscar knew we were going to try again. ***** be happy about this.
Bette: Yes, his wife said wed try again she was right”she was so right.
Tina: (turning to Bette) Yeah she was babe, she was.
Tina held Bettes hand as they rode.
Tina: Why dont we order out dinner and invite all the girls to come join us and tell them tonight.
Bette: Sounds good T.
Bette sat in silence the rest of the way thrilled with her family and resigning herself to do what she needed to do to provide and to provide well for her family even if it meant working with Simone. She didnt let her thoughts remain there too long she just wanted to dote on her T for today, today and forever.
