    It’s Just A Love Song

I hate this song! Shane remarked at Alice as they shopped for CDs. Alice listened for a minute before laughing.
You dont like Brain McKnight? Theres a shocker. Alice snorted sarcastically. When she had asked Shane to come with her she thought itd be fun, but it had turned out Shane wasnt on for love songs. Obviously Alice knew that but it was a CD store and she thought that Shane would at LEAST look for some of her rock music to keep her occupied.
I didnt say i didnt like him. I said this song is ***** weak. Nobody is that happy, man. Shane said shrugging her shoulders and placing a CD back on the shelves. She moved down a little and took a look at another CD.
Well maybe Shane, some people ARE that happy. Alice declared moving over the another section of the store. Shane looked over at Alice and shook her head. She only went along because she thought Id be better then sitting alone at the Planet while everybody else went on with their lives. Hey do you have a problem with The Temptation? Alice asked picking up the CD and showing it to Shane.
Temptations? Of course, my girl? I loved that song, man. Id hear it so much cuz this kid i knew was obsessed over them. Soon it became like our theme song. Shane said reflecting a little about her childhood. It was odd though, Alice rarely heard Shane say anything about her past. It was a touchy subject for her and Alice knew better then to ask her about it.
My theme song was Meredith Brooks *****. Shane raised an eyebrow to Alice.
Al that song came out in like…1997. How is that youre theme song? Shane smirked and folded her arms. Alice grew kind of red not expecting Shane to be that knowledgeable in music.
That was one of em. I just dont wanna tell you my others. Alice said grabbing one last CD and taking it to the counter. Shane smiled and followed.
Aw, Al, come on were buddies…what where they? Alice paid for the CD and they left the store.
    Not saying. Alice protested.
Come on! Al…i gotta know! Please…please! Shane begged making sad puppy faces but Alice completely ignored her.
Alright fine. Ill tell you my real theme song if you tell me a love song that you absolutely love! Shane thought for a moment then shrugged.
Never mind Id rather not know. Shane declared not given up any love songs. She then hurried to her truck with Alice following close behind.
Come on Shane, please! Ill even go first. sighing in defeat Shane smiled and waited for Alice to explain. Fine, my theme song was…Staying Alive…. Shane bursted into laughter imaging Alice doing disco in a big fro or something along those lines.
Okay Shane…come on whats youre favorite love song? but Shane was still laughing. Shane! still laughing. ITS SO NOT THAT FUNNY! Shane, red faced, cracked a smiled and pretend to disco dance before laughing again. Fine, w/e!
Aw, come on Al Im sorry.
Sure, now come on Shane…love song! Shane sighed. Then she thought for a moment and finally picked one out.
This doesnt leave us, right AL? Alice shook her head yes. I like Celine Dions Its all coming back to me now. Alice smiled.
    Aw, why?
It deals with my childhood, Al. But look i gotta go. Appointment. Alice nodded pretending to understand. Um Al, what CD did you buy? Alice grew a little red.
    Um nothing.
What, is it Staying Alive? Shane started disco dancing again embracing all the awkward stares she was getting.
No its a collection CD. Jazz, country, adult contemporary, ya know. Music. Shane smirked.
Yea, ***** music. then she got into her truck and took off. Alice looked at the CD and noticed a suddenly familiar song: Its All Coming Back To Me Now. She decided she would play it on Shanes answering machine the first time she brought up Staying Alive to the gang.
