    Redefining relationships

    .. you want picking up? Kit said.

    No..well be over in about 20 minutes.. we need to swing by Tinas hotel..pick up something important.. Bette smiled again See ya soon.

    Bette paid the cab driver and as he drove away she looked from the food bags to Emily and back again.

    Tina noticed the look of longing on Bettes face when she glanced at Emily You can carry her if you like Tina smiled up at her I can get the bags.

    Bettes face transformed immediately, she was so excited about getting to know this little girl. She crouched and put her arms out to Emily, her delight evident when Emily came straight to her.

    Tina picked up the bags, tucked Baa under her arm and smiled at Bette as she laced their fingers together.

    They walked to Kits apartment side-by-side, Bette unsure whether to gaze into the eyes of her, hopefully soon-to-be-again, partner or her gorgeous daughter.

    When Kit opened the door she was overwhelmed by the smiling faces on her doorstep. Her head swivelled from side to side, taking in the beaming Bette, a happy Tina and a little girl in Bettes arms that reminded Kit immediately of early photos of Bette as a toddler.

    Oh..my god.. Kit said her hand on her heart and a reciprocating smile on her face.

    Its so good to see you again Kit turned to Tina and gave her a hug; noted Tinas hand had been laced with Bettes.

    And whos this little one.. Kit asked unable to stop herself stroking the dark curly hair.

    Emily buried her head into Bettes shoulder, hiding her face, a little overwhelmed by these new people she was meeting all at once.

    This said Tina as she gently stroked her daughters back is EmilyEmee this is Aunty Kit..can you say hello?

    They walked into Kits apartment and fell into an easy discussion catching up on the missing years of their lives. The discussion was relaxed, friendly and cheerful. In the three years that Tina and Bette had been apart, Kit and Bette had resolved many of their differences and had come to a better place in their relationship.

    It was Kit that Bette had turned to when it became clear that her relationship with Tina could not be salvaged.

    2. Great followup continuing from the previous chapter. The story flows smoothly. You didn’t leave any loose ends and you fill in the gaps on what had happened to Bette when she and Tina were separated.

      Oh, I just figure out that Baa is Emily’s facourite toy…ha ha..I must have missed out reading it at the previous chapter.
      I’m really glad to see that the relationship between Tina and Kit never changed and Bette and Kit’s relationship grew stronger in years. Bette’s jealousy towards Kit about Emily is normal as she doesn’t want to lose any precious moments with Emily and just want to spend most of the time getting to know her better. Bette doesn’t know if Emily is going to be in her life permanently as Tina hasn’t say whether they are going to be together and hence Bette’s insecurity is justified…

      I’m going to read your next chapter now…:)
