Chapter 6

Tomorrow is Angelicas fifth birthday and we decided to take her, her friend Melissa and Tristan, Dana and Alices seven year old adopted son, to Disney Land for the weekend. It started out as just Bette, the children and me. Then when Shane found out, she and Carmen thought it would be a nice road trip. We rented a van with lots of room and invited Dana, Alice and Jenny to join us. We left Friday evening after work and school and got there about ten that night. The children were already asleep by the time we got there. We were lucky to get a double room. Age is probably getting the best of all of us because in the old days we would stay up and talk or even find a party to go to when we have trips like these. But today when we got there we were so tired that before long we were all fast asleep.

Morning came soon enough, and with the help of five very excited children we were awake, dressed and waiting for the park to open. We didnt have breakfast yet because the children, and when I say children I mean Bette and Shane included, wanted to have breakfast at the park. I never realised that Bette and Shane had never been to Disney Land. I mean shouldnt every American child visit Disney Land even once in their life. When we were planning this birthday trip we had camping in mind at first. Then going through a catalogue we came across Disney Land and Bette mentioned that she had never been to Disney Land and then it was final. Disney Land it was.

After breakfast there were so many things to do we couldnt decide which site to visit first, or which ride to take. But there was no rush. We had two days, well a day and a half and we made the best of it. The only bad thing to plague the weekend was an argument Bette and I had over a phone call I got the Saturday evening. See the thing is, we decided to have another child. Bette wanted Marcus again, instead I wanted David, Kits son. Bette thought it was weird to use David as a donor, her wife having a child with her nephew. But what a better idea can it be. He is blood. So to me its perfect. Anyway what Bette didnt know was that I spoke with David and he was more than happy to do it. I told Bette I would I just didnt tell her when. David was in town a few weeks ago and he and I went down to the bank and made a deposit. When my body was ready I did it. Of course I told Bette but she just thought I was doing it to test her to see if I were to go through with it how she would react. Well I got the call from Dr. Wilson and she told me that I was pregnant. I was a bit secretive about the call because I wanted to tell her when we got back home. But she did the whole spoilt child, no talking bit. So I told her. When we had some time alone, I told her. Surprisingly she was elated. She wasnt mad that I did it without her or that I chose David. She was glad that we were having another baby. And yes soon enough everyone found out. Would have been nice though if I got to tell them.
