Bette and Tina just sat there thinking. They were finding it extremely difficult to remember much of anything from there previous night. The silence was beginning to wind Alice up. Here she had the jackpot! Biggest gossip story of the century and there was no way to tell what really happened. ‘I could always just make something up I guess. Something so eccentric that people will be talking about it for years. Am I really all that mean? Ha! Who am I kidding.’

“So why not start at the beginning of the night and see how far through we can account for.” Started Alice. “Ok, so Bette phoned me explaining she was going to be late, here entering one Miss Tina Kennard. She was of course, nervous as ***** and beginning to get pissed at an extremely late Bette.”

“Hey! Take that back! I wasn’t that late. Besides you were too drunk to even notice me when I did arrive so how do you know I even was? We obviously still remember all of this so do we need to go over it? I hadn’t even had anything to drink yet.”

“This is true but that doesn’t help ME know everything that happened throughout the night. I want all the gossip! You should know me by now Bette.”

Tina still just sat there, ignoring the bickering in the background. ‘I’m sure if I just think and clear my mind things will just come flooding back to me’ she thought.

“Oh man,” she said just above a whisper. “Oh my god,” she said slightly louder, gaining her the attention of the now fighting Bette and Alice.

“What?” questioned Alice?

“I remember.” She spoke. She quickly looked up meeting Bette’s eyes with her own. “We argued in the bathroom, which led to the kissing, which led to the idiot throwing cold water over us to ‘cool us down’ which led to”

“The us having to leave in a taxi to my house to change out of wet clothing,” interrupted Bette, beginning to remember everything herself. “Which led to us jumping in my pool which led us to”

“Have wickedly hot, passionate ***** all night?” Jumped in Alice, now getting excited.

“NO” they both replied together, giving Alice the ‘shut up eyes’.

“Which led to us collapsing on the bed which then leads us to this morning where I was woken up by the devil herself!” finished Bette finally realising Tina’s plan.

Alice just sat their gob smacked for a few moments before turning to talk to Bette.

“That’s it? That’s all that happened between the to of you? Well that SUCKS! Gee, thanks. I hope you realise you just lost me a whole 50 bucks!”

“You bet on me having ***** with Tina?”

“NO! Don’t be silly. I’m not that immature. I bet that I would find the best gossip story from all of last nights events and you banging Miss Hetro over there would have been a sure win! Thanks guys!” She rambled while stuffing her notepad back in her pocket.

“I guess I have to go find me a story someplace else. So you know, Bye.” Alice spoke as she left Bette and Tina staring intensely into each other’s eyes. They sat there just enjoying looking at each other when Tina finally dare speak.

“Do you remember what really happened?” She asked.

“Yeah.” Bette replied.

“We did sleep together.” They said in unison.
