chapter 5…..
Bette slammed the door, and leaned against it……..tears filling her eyes……..while Tina was on the other side of the door crying……….
A week later, Tina and Henry were having dinner at The Chinese Shop, when Bette walked in…….to pick up her to-go order. Tina instantly felt that feeling that she had felt every time Bette was near her…….the sweaty palms, and the deep within butterflies….she turned her head just in time to see Bette grab her food from the owner….. “Thanx Chen..” she said softly….. “Anything for you Miss Bette..”
She started to turn, and spotted Tina staring at her.
“Hello Tina….” said Bette as she walked over to their table.….. “and hello to you too, Henry.”
“Hey” they both said in unison…..
“Awww, that’s too cute…..you are both speaking at the same time now….”
“Bette, please..” said Tina……..
“Yea, don’t you know what respect is?” asked Henry…….
“OOO….well as a matter of fact I do….Henry……I know that respect means that you don’t go into one’s marriage and start fuckin the wife..”
“Bette, Tina…..she came to me……” said Henry
“Bette, stoppit……don’t start again….”
“I’m sorry Tina, but all those years, I thought you were the one…….I thought that you wanted to be with me and me alone…….”
“And I thought that you just wanted me……until Candace ……..came along….”
“How many times do I have to apologize for that? How can I convince you that I am truly sorry ? Do I need to jump off of a bridge???” she asked loudly……..as everyone in the place started looking towards them……..
Tina stood up from the table…… “Henry, I will be right back..” she said as she grabbed Bette’s arm and walked her outside……as soon as they were out the door, “Bette, this shit has got to stop, you are being the meanest person I have ever known……and I am beginning to have very hateful feelings towards you…..you are pushing me sooo far away…….”
“Tina…..you don’t want me…….all you want is that dick in there….” said Bette through tears and pointing at the resturaunt…..
“I……look Bette……..I tried to talk to you……..and all you did was blow up”
“Tina, I cannot stand the fact that you are with him…….it kills me……..I just…….I know what I did was wrong…..and I feel like I have done everything possible to make it up to you, to no avail……”
