Chapter 16
Bette woke up with a feeling that somebody was watching her. It was not the uncomfortable or unnerving type of feeling. The arm that was still draped on her body was a clear indication of who her sleep’s intruder was and she wasn’t even a bit annoyed. She slowly opened her eyes, adjusting her eyes to the light that the sun brings and there in front of her was a set of the most beautiful hazel eyes she has ever seen.
Tina had been watching Bette ever since waking up. She loved looking at Bette’s delicate features. She looked so peaceful when she sleeps and Tina’s heart skips a beat just by watching her. Bette is undeniably one of the most beautiful women she has ever seen. She figured that early on. During their college days she saw how both men and women stopped and stared when Bette entered a room. But what Bette made more beautiful in her eyes was that she was never arrogant about it. In fact, it always seemed that Bette has no idea how beautiful she was. She never used it as a tool. She saw Bette’s eyeballs move behind her eyelids. She’s either having a dream or waking up. The fluttering of Bette’s eyelids indicated that she was waking up. Then, there it was, a set of two very dark brown eyes looking back at Tina. Her heart skipped a beat once again. She couldn’t help the smile that formed on her lips.
“Hey gorgeous” Tina warmly said with a smile.
“Hey yourself” Bette replied. “How long have you been awake?”
“Not too long. I decided to indulge on one of my newest guilty pleasure.”
“And what is that, may I ask you, Ms. Kennard?”
“Watching the beautiful face of my girlfriend while she peacefully sleeps”
“My, my, aren’t you naughty!”
“Naughty? I’m not doing anything babe. I’m just watching not touching.”
“Do you know that your stare leaves fire on my body?”
“No. Don’t you like it?” Tina inquired.
“Like it? Tee, I love it! It’s nice to know that an angel is watching over me.” Bette said with a smile while leaning in for a good morning kiss.
“Smooth talker”
“You love it”

Just completed reading all the chapters and I love the story. Glad they worked thru their difficulties and professed undying love and devotion to each other. This is all so lovely but what happens when Tina has to go back to LA? PPS
I am last again. I would love to wake up to either Bette or Tina in the morning. It would be awesome to look into dark brown eyes or hazel ones at least once.
