Chapter Ten
Within 30 minutes the phone rang and Bette jumped up to get it.
“Hello?” She answers.
“Bette, hi it’s me.” Michael starts and Bette hears right away from the sound of his voice that something is wrong.
“Please tell me that they didn’t let him go?” Bette asks, now very worried.
“It seems that way. Bette, he found her. Apparently she went by the house to collect a few more clothes for her and her son, and also to check mail. He was home, waiting for her.” Michael says carefully.
“Oh my god, is she okay? How is she, please tell me.” Bette says rapidly.
“She’s in the hospital, badly injured.” Michael replies.
“Oh my God, what kind of people are working down there, how could they let him go?” Bette asks in disbelief.
“I don’t know. But as the head judge, I’ll be looking into this, if there is someone who has fucked up here, I’ll know and that person will have consequences.” Michael replies.
“What about Eric now? Is he still out?” Bette asks.
“No, he’s back in jail, and this time he won’t get out. I’ve wired instructions down to the county jail, that he under no circumstances will be set free.” Michael says.
“Thank you. Have you got any new about Evan? Is he okay?” Bette asks softly.
“He’s okay. Tina apparently asked their neighbors to watch him for a few hours while she got the things she needed. She also told them the truth. More than that, I don’t know.” Michael says.
“When did this happen? I thought that from the hearing that he wouldn’t be let out before his trial?” Bette asks.
“As I said I’ll be looking into it. The attack happened yesterday morning.” Michael replies.
“Okay, thank you Michael. I’ll be driving down right now. Tina shouldn’t be alone. Damnit, I promised her that everything would be okay, that she was finally safe.” Bette says, getting a little angry at herself.
“Hey, normally he wouldn’t get out. There has to have been a breach somewhere. And I’m going to find it. You couldn’t have known that this would happen.” Michael says, trying to reassure her.
“I know, but still. Look I have to go. Thanks Mike for checking into it. Could you maybe don one more thing?” Bette asks.

I just knnew this would happen and I feel so bad for her and Bette. Bette may not know it but she has just inherited a family to take back to Nashville with her. Or they can all go to LA to live. Oh, please don’t leave us there! I would be laughing at Emily’s comment on the previous chapter, but this is heartbreaking. What must Tina have been thinking while the bastard was doing this to her? Will she be also be hurt at Bette leaving her? Don’t leave us hanging, pleeeeeeeeaaaaaassssssseeee!

No, no, no, so real. Could not read it after reDing the title. I knew he was out and it wasn’t good for Tina. Gosh!! After all the statistics this kind of things still happen today and it is sad and a shame for our society. Sorry but men making decision will always make it on their fellow men favor. Sadly, we can only dream of a deap change in FF. Please give us some hope thank you.

I am sure that Bette’s brother will get to the bottom as why Eric was let out of jail. And being a judge, he should be able to help Bette keep custody of Evan until Tina is better. PPS.
