    Chapter XV

I walked into the kitchen with Angelica in my arms. The staff where busy getting breakfast ready for the queen and those that ate with her. I always came here whenever I could and watched them work. I found it relaxing and I wanted to share this with Angelica.

I bounced her on my lap and let a few of the woman play with her. She was going to be extremely charming. She soaked in all the attention.

Once breakfast was ready I headed into the dining room where it was to be served.  Everybody was already  seated. Shane and Alice always joined us at our table. Helena would remain seated next to the queen where my seat was now across from the queen.  I was glad out table was big enough for 40. Giving us enough distance.

Once the queen arrived on my mother Olivia’s arm, we all stood up and bowed. Then took our seats after she took hers, I kept Angelica on my lap. As much as anybody wanted to deny it she had rights now.

I looked around and noticed Tina’s chair was empty. Helena didn’t seem worried.

“Where is Princess Christina?” I asked. I could feel Helena’s stair.

“How dare you ask for my wife?” She was still extremely angry. I hoped she realized she would have to eventually let it go. I wasn’t going to apologize to her again either.

“I was simply asking why the mother of my child wasn’t here. If you’re still too upset to have her here, that’s fine. She will simply sit next to me.” I didn’t bother making eye contact. “Alice would be happy to move down, Right Alice?”

Alice nodded a little too eager.

I could feel the queen’s eyes on me and eventually I would have to make eye contact. “Go get Princess Christina and tell her to hurry. We are all hungry.” The queen spoke but kept looking between Helena and I.

I was going to make sure they gave Tina the respect she deserved.

“And get Dana as well.” I announced. The guard quickly acknowledged me before running to get them.

“Dana hasn’t joined us before.” Helena stated.

“I enjoy my meals with pleasant company. Why not surround yourself with those that matter in your life.” The Queen didn’t respond, she did however seem surprised.

    1. It will only get harder for them both… Helena is actually really getting on my nerves. She wanted Christina dead, for pete’s sake, and didn’t care what would come of Angelica. Her talk of reconnecting with Tina is just a ploy to get under Bette’s skin. It’s working! Thanks :)
