Chapter 57

“Congratulations, fellas! Job well done.” Aaron praised Tina’s street team as she beamed at them from across the conference table.
“Thank you so much, Aaron.” Oscar said with sincere gratitude. “This is such an amazing opportunity you’ve given us, we are so grateful.”
“We won’t let you down, sir.” Esai added.
“Ehhh, I’m not worried about that at all. I trust that you boys have learned from the best.” Aaron winked at Tina, giving her a light nudge with his elbow.
The four of them sat in the very same conference room where Tina’s promotion was announced just two weeks earlier.
“So when do you want us to start?” Esai asked.
Aaron looked at Tina again as if she held the answer. Tina met his gaze, both her eyebrows raised in curiosity.
“How about tonight?” Aaron suggested quietly. “Kennard, why don’t you take them both to the shows you have tonight and tomorrow? Maybe by Wednesday they can take your show calendar for the rest of the week.”
“Okay, yeah for sure, but I mean, they’ve gone with me to shows before so I doubt they need training wheels for very long.” Tina informed her boss.
“That’s true, I mean we just went to a show with her on Friday.” Oscar admitted.
Both Aaron and Tina turned to look at him across the table. While Aaron’s face showed traces of puzzlement, Tina’s wide-eyed stare and slight shake of her head told Oscar not to say anymore.
“I thought you guys were at the Third Wheel gig at the Roxy on Friday?” Aaron posed his question to the blonde as he glanced at her sideways. Luckily for Tina, she was able to face him with those wide eyes pursed lips as if her full attention was on him, which gave nothing away.
“Hmm? Oh, yeah. We did. But before the show, I took the guys to some little restaurant not too far from the venue where some small time DJ was spinning.” Tina shrugged. Not entirely false, she thought. “Nothing too spectacular.” Sorry, Carmen. Just throwin’ him off our scent.
Oscar and Esai shared a look but knew better than to correct their supervisor in front of her own boss.

I will consider this last chapter as medication. I am not well at the moment and need all the goodness that comes my way! All my questions aren’t answered yet but I am sure deliverance is on its way! I’ll go back to my sick bed now! Thanks for posting and hope the US won their game! Who were they playing? :0)x

Wow, MeLL. You’re like the energizer bunny with all the posts…going and going and going… I love it! Glad Alice apologized to Shane. Glad Tina plans to come clean with Bette. Love Joyce in every capacity. Cracked up over Dana saying “Little Bette Porter”…sounded like she needed a staff and a flock of sheep…not the same appeal as Little P or Little Porter! Sooo many funny bits. By the way, being “forced” to be your screenplay beta reader sounds more like a treat than a threat…just sayin’!
I’m totally bummed after the US world cup loss yesterday. Your story brought a little smile to my otherwise dreary day. PPS

I surrender and bow to your cliffy feet…. oh and I think Phyllis should promote Bette and invite Leonard to a glittery lunch – he seems a little edgy! The pent up frustration caused by all those cliffy haunted chapters has forced me to take a three week holiday in Italy with my kids…shame on you!! Good luck with the US.
Owwwwww, too baad!!! Are you in love??? Two chapters within a day, some thing gonna happen, Imagine that I did not have the time to get the pop corn. So far so true concerning music industry. LOL.. I was wondering who is 22 year old in the story when read the summary.. Silly me! :-D hm.. Maybe some blink-blink on the crouch is a new thing in the industry huh?! :-p looks like Leonard should join Aaron for lunch sometime! This kind of behavior reminds me of my petty boss last time! Ugh!! Go Bette!! :-) Anyway will next chapter have more story on Tina and Bette?! :-) and hopefully in a good term?! Great update. Been without internet for a few days, all kinds of problems with it. Just let Tina tell Bette the truth when they talk so they won’t have any more problems than they do already. Thanks for updates.
