Chapter 79
Alphaville Records/Law Offices of Joyce L. Wischnia
“Alphaville Records, how may I direct your call?”
“Tina Kennard, please.”
“May I tell her who is calling?”
“Joyce Wischnia.”
“And what is this regarding?”
“Kit Porter and the Stouts.”
“One moment please.”
The bubbly receptionist punched the hold button on the multi-line phone, treating the caller to hold music consisting of Third Wheel Crush’s “Wonder Woman.”
Joyce looked around the table at the eager faces that kept their eyes on the speakerphone. A few fervent sighs accompanied by equally enthusiastic smiles were contagious as the band sat on the edges of their comfortable chairs. Bette tapped her thumb on the table as she waited to hear the voice of her favorite blonde, paying no mind to the song that was playing through the phone.

“Whatever you do, do not say it first.” Dana counseled. “She’ll expect that, especially knowing she’s the only woman you’ve, you know.” The goofy young executive motioned her head to the side as if Tina knew what she was referring to.
Tina laughed at Dana’s serious expression. The blonde shook her head. “The only woman I’vvvve…what, Dana?”
“You know.” Dana blushed, not wanting to have to say what she was referring to. Tina looked at her expectantly. “Aw, come on, T, do I have to spell it out for you?”
“Apparently so.” Tina teased some more.
“Hey Tina?” the A&R Executive’s speakerphone interrupted the dialogue between the two friends.
“Yes?”
“Joyce Wischnia’s on line two for you regarding Kit Porter and the Stouts.”
“Great, thanks, Lisa. Can you let Aaron know I’m going to be taking that call if he wants to join me, please.”
“You got it.”
“Thank you.”
Dana drew in a breath. “I guess that’s my cue to leave, huh?” She stood but didn’t move from her spot as Tina spoke again.
“Not so fast, Dr. Dana. Why don’t you tell me what you were talking about just now?”
“T, she’s your first girlfriend. Every woman falls head over heels in love with their first girlfriend once they’ve seen the power of the p-p-….princess.” Dana blushed at the thought of the word she almost uttered, causing Tina to laugh.

Oh Boy, that was not not the drama I was expecting. How could Bette let that happen, she is usually a constant professional. I hope she has a job for Tina because she just lost her’s, if the band does not sign with Aron. And yes your story truly does entertain me, and I hope that your Tuesday will be better than your Monday. Waiting for the next chapter.PPS-ASAP!!!
Oh my, what a horrendous faux pas. Tina can and should disavow any knowledge of what the hell Bette said and never admit any involvement with Bette in any way whatsoever. They can always say that Bette must have been talking with someone in the room with her. Aaron can not prove anything. Hope she gets away with it. Thanks for the post.

That was the biggest whoops I’ve ever read OMG you had me dying. If we shared the winnings then you’d still have to work and there won’t be FF. Which would defeat the purpose, so I’ll take the FF. Money can’t buy the talent for writing that you have (and the other amazing writers on this site). Or maybe it can in CA thanks for the awesome update.
Awwwww poor chicken… Sorry about your bad …. Looks like Tina is headed in the same direction… Aaron is about to unleash a full scale Spanish inquisition and it ain’t going to be any more pleasant for Tina as it was for the.poor unsuspecting critters back then… Amazing chapter as usual, hoping that bad days aren’t what makes you post quicker as I would hate to wish more of those for you! and b/day dates and anniversaries aren’t cliché! :-(
