Gillian sat the end of the couch with a calculus book and a note book in her lap. Her legs were draped across Grace’s lap who was steady typing her paper for Bette’s class.

“I can’t believe you finished this thing in like 20 minutes.” Grace said.

“Yeah well it helps that you’ve had to discuss that topic with the professor like a thousand times at the dinner table.” Gillian said not looking up from her problem.

“Unfair is what it is.” Grace said.

“You need some help?” Gillian looked up.

“No, I’m done just editing.” Grace said.

“Then why are you giving me grief?” Gillian gave Grace a teasing grin.

    “I’m sorry.” Grace said.

    “Relax, I’m teasing.” Gillian said.

“Okay I have to learn that.” Grace hit send on the email turning in her paper.

“Learn what?” Grace said still doing calculus.

“When you’re teasing and when you’re not.” Grace sat her computer down on the coffee table. Gillian looked up.

“It is a fine art, but I think you’ll figure it out… Maybe.” Gillian said.

“Maybe?” Grace asked. Her hands were very slowly moving further and further up Gillian’s legs.

“Yep.” Gillian was still fixed on her work. “Babe. I’m almost done.” Gillian said.

Grace leaned back and picked her biology book.

“Finally. I’m done.” Gillian said 15 minutes later.

Grace didn’t look up from her book. Gillian sat her books down on the coffee table.

“No, response?” Gillian asked. Grace didn’t respond.

“Biology huh. What kind?” Gillian stretched to look at the book.

    “Human anatomy.” Grace said.

“Oh okay. I’m just going to watch TV.” Gillian leaned across Grace to reach the remote.

“Why don’t you help me with this?” Grace grinned.

    “With anatomy?” Gillian said.

“Yep.” Grace sat the book down next to her.

“What do you need help with?” Gillian asked.

“We have a quiz tomorrow on the skeletal system.” Grace said.

“I bet you already know it all.” Gillian said.

    “Maybe.” Grace said being coy.

“Why don’t tell me all the ones you know.” Gillian leaned against the side of the couch.
