Their new Tribeca loft is brightly lit by the 4 o’clock sun
in early days of June. Bette and Tina are sitting in a
corner of their new couch overwhelmed by their open space
apartment with a priceless view of lower Manhattan.

A delivery man calls over to Bette to sign the invoice for
their new furniture. An exhausted Tina smiles to herself as
she slides her back down to lay where Bette was sitting.
Bette is annoyed and forcefully tells the man to ensure that
all the boxes are taken out of the apartment as she walks
away dismissing him for the afternoon.

She brushes her hand along the top of their new marble table
in the dining area as she works her way through the open
apartment. She looks up to admire the newly installed light
fixtures that she commissioned from a emerging artist Kerry
Stone from the Lower East Side.

Bette:
(looking up at the fixtures)
I knew they would be perfect here.

Tina:

I knew WE would be perfect here.

Looking back to smile at Tina; laying with one hand behind
her head and the other hanging off the edge of the linen
couch. Bette glances again at the ceiling and finally finds
her way back to the couch.

Bette:

All I know for sure is that New York does have better
coffee.

Tina:
Well you better not tell Kit….

Bette:
Right! That reminds me I should call a bit earlier to see if
Angie’s teacher sent any response regarding her transfer. I
don’t want Kit dealing with all that….it’s already crazy
that she’s watching Angie for another few days.

Tina:
Yeah, at first I felt like we are responsible parents for
letting her finish out the school year in LA but now I feel
guilty…for being kinda happy that where alone.

Bette:
Oh yeah! KINDA?

Bette leans over and gently pushes Tina’s hair away from her
face and places small kisses on her lips. She smiles at Tina
and tells her she is ”kinda” glad they are alone as well.
Tina sits up to greet Bette with a passionate kiss and
hoists her body to straddle Bette on the lux sofa. She holds
Bette’s faces and whispers to her ”maybe we should try out
this couch first and work our way to the rest of the house”.
Bette opens her eyes and smiles big at request and leads
Tina’s hips back on to the seat and slowly leans her, lying
her body down. She drags her hand down Tina’s button down
blouse and begins open each button from the bottom. Tina
places her hands on Bette’s stomach and reaches under to
un-tuck her shirt and with her hand under the waistline she
begins to undo Bette’s black dress pants.

Suddenly there is a rustling sound coming from the stair
case that leads to bedrooms. Tina freezes and curiously sits
up.

Tina:

What was that?

Bette:
(kissing Tina’s neck)
Huh?

Tina:
Oh shit!

The deliver man enters the living area up to his arms in
empty broken down boxes.

Deliverman:
Miss Porter can someone grab the door for me?

Bette:
(with her shirt halfway hanging off her shoulder hair
disheveled)
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!
