Congratulations to our BenMac (Cameron MacElvee) for winning a “Goldie” Award from Golden Crown Literary Society!
Cam’s first novel, By the Dark of Her Eyes, was a huge hit in the lesbian fiction world. By the Dark of Her Eyes won the Goldie for Paranormal/Horror book. By the Dark of Her Eyes is also a 2016 finalist for the Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards in LGBT category.
Cam announced her second novel, The Smell of Rain, here on LesFan:
I’m excited to announce the upcoming release of my second novel, The Smell of Rain. The official blurb and cover have been finalized; however, a release date is still being determined.
Air Force Lieutenant and military interpreter Chrys Safis lost her leg fighting alongside Kurdish forces in Syria. Once back home in DC, her fiancée leaves, her military career ends, and her faith in humanity evaporates. With prescription drugs and alcohol her only relief from the pain, Chrys is on her way to becoming a statistic.
That is until the State Department calls and offers her an important assignment—to serve as a diplomatic liaison and interpreter for a Turkish national living in exile. Reyha Arslan, a wise and elegant woman with a tragic past, shows Chrys that there’s still beauty to embrace and reason to hope despite the world’s cruelty. With Reyha’s help, Chrys’s broken spirit begins to heal, and she learns that the most significant love is often the shortest lived.
I’ll leave the fan fiction version up until the novel’s release, but just as I did with The Groves, I’ll be required to remove all but the first two chapters once the book is released.
Thanks for everyone’s support. I’ll be back soon with a story.
xoxo

U totally speak for me Proto
Congratualations BenMac on this fantastic win! It is so deserved for this incredible book and more so for the category of Paranormal/Horror. I remember that it was a great B + T-storyline with some angry ghosts when posted here. But BenMac transformed it into an incredible book with compelling paranormal plot and beautiful, authentic characters. I just recently re-read it on long journey by train and was capitvated by it again. Hopefully BenMac will find the time to give us more of her wonderful L-Word stories but I’m looking forward to her next book as well.
