That’s right… Ilene Chaiken is executive producing a new medical drama, and it will feature a lesbian lead character.
Rhodes to Recovery will center on an openly gay female trauma surgeon and her new colleague, a straight male neurosurgeon. Their lives at work — and at home — become complicated when one starts dating the other’s ex-wife.
Of course, there are TWO million dollar questions – 1) Who will play the lesbian lead? and 2) Does the lesbian sleep with the neurosurgeon’s ex-wife, or does the straight guy get the (formerly?) lesbian?
Chaiken is sharing executive producing Rhodes to Recovery along with Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum, who are also executive producers of the monster hit, Two and a Half Men. CBS TV Studios, where the Tannenbaums are based, is the studio.
There is no date yet for when filming will begin. Keep watching here. We will, of course, cover the show and hope for a fabulous new crushable lesbian lead!

Hi Ilene,
This is so nice to know that you are thinking of starting another series with lesbian characters in it. I know there might be a dozen of people who has actually written to you about TLW but just to inform you I watch TLW everyday and I am die hard fan of it. It makes me laugh, cry and most importantly feel. It would be so wonderful if you can cast some of TLW characters in your new series. TLW has been an legend and a super duper Hit and I am sure the characters would love to work with you again. Please take this as a suggestion and request.
Regards,
Anu
