    After a few rounds Resa  asked her ”are you thirsty, would you like anything to drink from the bar?” She asked her if she can get a long island iced tea? Resa went over to the bar and ordered 2 long island iced tea’s. When she went back to their table she handed Flo her

    After a few rounds Resa  asked her ”are you thirsty, would you like anything to drink from the bar?” She asked her if she can get a long island iced tea? Resa went over to the bar and ordered 2 long island iced tea’s. When she went back to their table she handed Flo her drink, they continued to play a few more rounds. Flo glanced 

    at her watch & noticed the time, it was getting late. Resa noticed the time also, it was almost 1 in the morning. She asked her did she have someplace to be at the moment, bcuz she wanted to get to know her some more. Flo said she didn’t have any plans for the rest of the night, she asked ”what do you have in mind?” Resa told her ”we can hang out right here.” The pool room was about to close. She told her the manager was a good friend of hers. Resa said she’ll be right back she left to go talk to him. When she returned she told her they have the room all to theirselves. Flo was impressed, she said ”I didn’t know you had it like that?” Resa said her & the manager go way back. ”I told him about you so he let us stay for as long as we’d like. Anything we want to drink is at our disposal, he gave me the keys said to lock up when we leave.”

    Resa asked her do you smoke? She said yes, she  handed her a bag of mango pina kush that she got from her homeboy. She asked her if it was ok to smoke in here? Resa said ”we have the place to ourselves”. Letting her know that it was ok to smoke. Flo began rolling a blunt, Resa walked over to the DJ booth to hook her phone up the Bluetooth system to play them some music. She asked Flo if she had any special request? She said ”whatever you play is fine.” Resa asked her would she like a beer or something else to drink? She said ”yes a Corona please.” Resa hooked up her phone to the speaker system. The first song she played was that new T-Pain joint the Boo’d Up Remix. Resa asked her if she heard this song yet? She said ”no this is the first time I’m hearing this, I’ve only heard the original version”. Resa goes in the fridge to get 2 beers, a corona for Flo & a Heineken for herself. She goes to the DJ booth to get the remote for the speaker system to turn up the volume, not too loud bcuz she didn’t want anyone to know that they were in there after hours. When she comes back with the two  beers they make a toast to new friends & another one ”to my boy Mike for letting us chill after hours.” Flo lights the blunt & they begin talking getting to know one other. Flo asked her if she had anybody special in her life? Resa said ”no not at the moment I’m a Prince in search for my Princess. She asked Flo she if had anybody special in her life she said ”no, not at the moment. ”Resa asked her ”are you looking for someone special to be in your life? Because I would like to be that special somebody. I’ll treat you like the Princess you are. Maybe one day we can rule our own kingdom.”

    1. Interesting story line. Having no idea about the personalities and life situation of the characters until the very end gives a surprise to the ending. The causal banter ending in intimacy seems a bit strange while in the process of reading. This is particularly struck me when in the opening scene Resa comments that she has spotted her future wife. And when Flo turns out to be a nursing mother, that was a big surprise in that wouldn’t that be brought up early in the conversation? But with the ending, why would it be brought up as they know each other well.
