    Nobis Pacem Chapter 1

“You have an ass for days,” she observed suddenly.

She’d been following behind me, still holding onto my hand, as we negotiated a narrowing portion of the hall that led from the door to my room. I’d laid a couple of paintings I’d just had framed against the wall, and had been planning to hang it over the weekend. I wheeled around to look at her. Is she yanking my chain?

    “A what?” I asked.

“A fine, very fine, ass. That someone, preferably me, could worship for days. Or months. Or years,” she answered calmly, but with a twinkle in her big brown eyes.

“Look who’s talking,” I said over my shoulder, trying not to show how this had knocked me off my hopefully sexy stride, and unable to come up with a cleverer response at that moment.

She was still laughing lightly when we got to my room. As a room, it was bigger than hers – the only feature in my apartment that matched or exceeded her place. In every other way and category, her apartment dwarfed mine. If the fireplace in her living room was her sanctuary, my room was my refuge. I suddenly felt incredibly happy she had asked to enter it.

“I like it,” she said as she sat at the edge of the bed, which had been raised on a platform. I quickly thought about whether to tell her that I’d had the bed mounted on a platform because the men I’d dated were often well over six feet, and most were six-three to six-five. A raised platform made it easier for certain intimate positions with them – that was true. Later, though, I’d found built-in drawers under it turned out to be a big plus.

She stood and eyed the bed, observing its dimensions, especially its height, and turned to look at me. I was opening my mouth, about to explain, when she smiled quickly, and then gracefully sat back on it. She started to inch her way further up the bed, still smiling. Aerin and I were about the same height, 5’8” or maybe she was an inch taller, max. I saw that she navigated the raised bed easily. She scooted up the bed until she was relaxing against the headboard.

      • Here in spirit. But this is about a few special L words that play out in a couple’s life in another part of town. In the fringes of the world of the series I’ve been writing; but different. Hope you like it.

    1. Will try this again. Left a message about 4:00 this morning and something happened, it’s not posted. My message was to thank you for posting such a beautiful love story. And that I hope this story will be continued we would like to know what happens to Aerin in the future. Thanks for sharing.

    2. Dainty, Hellbent, and new friends: thanks for the comments. Honestly: was tough to pull this together, but it was worth it. Am v glad you liked it. Ok. I hear you. It may take a while for an update on her story, but it will be coming.

      • Well this was a pleasant surprise. I am always seeking an episode from your creativity. So much, I had to buy a smaller electronic device so that I might read your input on the go. Now, for me buying another electronic anything is saying a lot. I am one of the “dial phone” “get up and change the channel” “do not Text me and expect an answer” old school DIE HARD. But, your writing genius persuaded me to become a mobile reader at my neighborhood “coffee house.” Please continue to write

    3. Beautiful story. I could feel Aerin’s struggle. I would love to read about the 18 months in between their first time and Chris’ final moments. I sure it would be moving.
