15. If You Could Read My Mind, Love…
***
Korsak, why can’t you locate Patrick Doyle,” Cavanaugh demanded to know.
“Sir, he has property everywhere and it is just taking time. Besides which, if there is some sort of plant or leak in the BPD, it keeps him one step ahead of us.”
Cavanaugh continued with “Well, if Rizzoli knows anything about this, she’s not saying or she is still in shock. Not that I blame her. Could we trust her intuition right now, Vince?”
***
“Jane, I am sure the cot was hideous. Why don’t you shower and pull on a robe to relax. Your mother and I can grab some things from the guest house after while and maybe come up with something for you to wear.”
Constance directed Jane to the second bedroom with an en suite, adding “Just relax a while and I will call out for dinner, dear.”
“Angela, I can put you in the den. I hope that’s acceptable. It was a third bedroom but I turned it into an office/ studio space such as it is. There is a pull out sofa in there.”
“It will be fine, Constance” Angela reassured her again.
“Would you like a drink,” Constance offered. “I am up for a glass of wine or two after this.”
“Sounds lovely, thank you.” Angela was still bravely choking back tears; tears for Jane, tears for Maura, tears for Maura and Jane and the new life they were beginning. She didn’t know how Constance held herself together so well.
This was practically the first moment Jane found herself alone since, just say it she coached herself, the disappearance. She set the shower on a high setting so it would feel as if she was getting a massage as the water beads danced across her. She found the white fluffy spa-type robe and slipped it on before laying across the bed. She rummaged her backpack for Maura’s Ipod and began in the file I MISS YOU, JANE where she had left off.
I believe you when you say that you will reach into the sky and steal a star so you can put it on my finger,
I believe you, baby I believe you
I believe you when you say that every time that we make love will be the first time we’ve made love and every act of love will please you
Baby, I believe you
Blind faith makes me follow you
I’d live in a cave if you want me to
Ask me, and I’ll marry you
I’ve made up my mind for a lifetime…
Jane found peaceful sleep with tear-stained cheeks.
So, somehow, Patrick Doyle had not only entered Maura’s mind, but Jane’s, their mother’s and the BPD, but no one was willing to admit it to the others.

Joanna Baird says
Paddy didn’t actually kidnap Maura. She called him for help after Cavanaugh revealed it might be related to organized crime. When he realized she was in danger for examing some of the bodies, that’s when he wouldn’t let her leave, agreed to help her with the case.

Still a little lost here, I thought Jane knew from the text Maura put the money in her account. Glad Jane is out and Constance is not blaming her.
