Ashley smirked.
Ashley: What do you think?
Spencer backed up and sat on her bed.
Spencer: Honestly?
Ashley: Yeah.
Spencer: I don’t think she is.
Ashley sat next to the blonde.
Ashley: And why not?
Spencer: I don’t know. Just a gut feeling I guess. You don’t seem like the relationship type.
Ashley: so there’s a type?
Spencer: Yeah, and you’re not it.
Ashley: No, I’m not. She was just a friend.
Spencer: The girl last night was just a friend?
Ashley nodded.
Spencer: Those are some mighty impressive benefits you give your “friends”.
Ashley: You better watch out. I’m started to consider you a friend.
Spencer froze.
Ashley: I’m kidding.
Spencer: Oh.
Ashley tried to cover her tracks.
Ashley: about the benefits thing, not about being a friend.
Spencer forced a smile.
Spencer: When you find the right person you’ll settle down.
Ashley: I wouldn’t be to sure about that.
Spencer: A healthy relationship can really do wonders.
Ashley couldn’t control her laughter.
Ashley: You show me a healthy relationship.
Spencer: Danny and I are healthy.
Ashley gave her new friend a doubtful look.
Spencer opened her mouth to defend her relationship when she noticed that Ashley’s hand was pressing against her own. Her heart stopped and sweat began forming at her temples. She swallowed hard.
Spencer: Ok, maybe you’re right.
Spencer tried desperately to find something else to talk about. Assuming that politics and weather were out of the question it left her with very few options. Luckily Ashley took the reins.
Ashley: Do you remember last night when I asked for a light?
Spencer nodded.
Ashley: My lighter was never broken.
Spencer tilted her head, confusion written plainly across her face.
Spencer: Then whyÉ
Ashley: I just wanted some company.
Spencer pursed her lips.
Spencer: Oh please. You had a naked woman in your bed! How on earth could you be lonely?!
Ashley stood up.
Ashley: You’d be surprised sunshine.
For the first time since Ashley had begun calling her that, Spencer smiled. It was growing on her.

man how you can make spashley interacion just as freaking appealing as say a spashley nc-17 fan fic is beyond me. i mean you dont even need to rush into anything sexual. even the light touches show such emotion. every update you give us just has a little more interaction and just a perfect amount of detail. it turned into my craving

You’ve turned me into one of those people that rushes to the end to be the first one to comment. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next. I love that you’ve given the other characters a shape in your story and that you are keeping the pace between Ashley and Spencer slow (but not too slow!), because we both know how instant connections don’t always equal instant romantic relationships. I love the building tension between them, that always makes the climax and dénouement that much better.
