    A Good Night

There was this party down at Ego. I had to go for some press junket bullshit, as always, but Spencer needed a cheer-up after her recent breakup, and hell, a club should be fun right?. If she’s with me she will be.

“Hey Spence, are you busy tonight?”

“when am I ever nowadays?” she sighed.

“well, you‘re coming with me to Ego tonight, we gotta turn that frown upside down.”

    “Ash, I don’t know..”

“I do know. And I‘m picking you up at eight, so be ready.” I winked at her and walked the opposite direction. I was gonna turn that frown upside down, no matter what.

I was surprised Spencer was outside when I pulled up, but she knew if she wasn’t, she’d be dragged out.

She walked over to my car and reluctantly got in.

“you ready to go have some fun?!” I asked her, trying to put a smile on her adorable face.

    “eh, I guess.” she shrugged.

“c‘mon Spence, have a little more enthusiasm please.”

She turned her head and threw a fake smile at me,

“I know that was fake, but it was a good start.”

We pulled up to Ego and she finally said something,

    “why are we doing this?”

“Spencer,” I waited until she looked at me. “I hate seeing you upset like this, I‘m trying okay?. Please, just, don’t think about him tonight, let‘s have a bitchin’ time.” I tried to say that with the most serious face, but a smile slipped out. “come on girl, let‘s go get our dance on!”

    She finally smiled.

Until we walked into the club and saw none other than him.

“I should kick his ass for what he did to you. But we’re going to ignore him and have fun.”

She seemed hesitant, but agreed with me half-heartedly.

    Better than nothing.

We went up to get drinks from the bartender and he popped up behind us.

Good thing my hands were on the drinks because if they were free, I woulda knocked him in his shit.

“what the fuck are you doing here?” I spat at him.

“well first off, I‘m here to party, and in this spot to talk to Spencer,” he replied, looking at her most of the time.
