All In Your Hands – (Chapter: Chapter 22: Aussie Boys)

    Ashley’s P.O.V.

After Spencer and I took showers, we headed out for an amazing dinner. Though I have to say, the food wasn’t the only thing amazing at the table. Spencer looked gorgeous. Her hair was straightened, flowing past her shoulders. She wore a black top that sparkled in the candlelight, and a mini-skirt, that showed off her curves. I could not wait to get her to the club for a night of dancing.

We decided to go to a hip bar located only a few blocks from the hotel. It was packed with hot, young Aussies. Possible new friends I hope. I told Spencer to find us a booth, and I would get us drinks.

“Two jack and cokes please.” I said to the bartender.

“Ah, I almost never hear a shelia ordering a hard drink like that.” I looked around to see a young Aussie guy, probably only 20 or 21, staring at me.

“Excuse me? A shelia?” I asked, completely confused.

“Oh, my apologies. I didn’t realize you were an American.” He extended his hand. “I’m Luke.”

“Ashley.” I said, returning the handshake. He was pretty cute, for a guy anyway. He had blonde surfer hair and a great tan. His sea green eyes sparkled in the dim lights.

“Beautiful name. So, where do you live?”

“Los Angeles. California. Have you ever been there?”

“No, but I hear they have good surfing there.”

“Yeah, I guess. I’m not really into the whole surf scene.”

“Bummer. Well, if you wanted to get into it, I do teach surf lessons…”

“Really? That’s cool. Well, I’d have to check with my girlfriend…”

“Oh? You’re here with a friend?”

“Well actually, we are together…” He still looked confused so I continued. “I’m gay.”

“Oh, I understand.” The bartender handed me my drinks. I kind of liked this guy so I decided to invite him back to my table.

“Spencer…” I said, sitting down and handing her the Jack and coke. “This is Luke. Luke, Spencer, my girlfriend.”

“Nice to meet you!” She said, flashing him a million dollar smile.

“You too! I’m the luckiest bloke in the bar tonight. I’ve got myself a couple of spunks…”

“Um…spunks?” I asked, still not understanding the Aussie lingo.

“Oh, sorry again. It means attractive people.”

“Well, thanks Luke.” Spencer said. “So, tell us about yourself.”

Luke started to tell us he was raised in Sydney and wasn’t planning on leaving. He didn’t go to college even though he was 20. He planned to surf for the rest of his life. It was great to meet a chill Aussie who didn’t care about Spencer and I being gay and all. After about 3 more drinks, I was getting tired. We told Luke we were headed back to our hotel, and gave him the number to our room.

Walking back, Spencer and I held hands enjoying the cool mist of the ocean upon our faces. This had to be heaven.
