Ashes Made Cold – (Chapter: The Pain One Needs.)

"You crawled out of your own grave…for revenge." Anna muses out loud.

"And Justice." Bianca sits on the ground, "I watched her go she
closed her eyes and she was gone. I should have let go, too, but I
couldn’t." she looks up at Anna with eyes reflecting a soul-deep
pain, "It’s possible to die inside and yet still live. The rage can
keep you here if it’s deep enough…pure enough. If it permeates your
    very soul to the bone."

"Oh my…." Anna’s hand flies to cover her mouth, "The pain…"

"Yes, it can become your life." Bianca looks down again.

    "M-Maggie…is she…"

"NO!" Bianca looks up quickly, "No, she is at peace. She is waiting
    for me I hope."

"You kill them and you’re done?" Anna finally asks.

    "Yes, they have to pay."

    "You enjoy it don’t you?"

    "Yes." Comes the simple reply.

"You loved her very much if you are back here."

"I still love her. I would do anything for her. It is the only real
part of me left that is Bianca." She looks deeply at Anna.

"I see that. I see that in your eyes, but not much else other than a
hunger. We miss you Bianca. We miss you both." Anna offers.

Bianca not knowing what to say simply nods as she stands up. She
misses Maggie. This is really all she knows of longing and love
right now. She won’t tell this to Anna. She can see the questions
    already going through her mind.

"You should go, Anna. One more and I will go. I hope." Bianca
    turns.

"Wait…please." Anna calls as she digs in her wallet.

    "What?" Bianca turns back around.

"I want to show you something." She produces a picture. She holds
it out to Bianca who takes it.

<<< "Push Anna, Oh…honey…the second one is out. She’s as beautiful
as the first." David hugs Anna tightly.

"Are they alright, David?" she asks frantically.

"They are perfect. Just a minute and you can hold them both.
    They’re just cleaning them up."

The nurse hands the baby girls to Anna and David helps her get them
settled. The nurse approaches from the other side.

"Do you have names picked out yet for both?" she asks.

"Honey, did you want to name them after…" David trails off.

"Yes, their names are Mary-Margaret and Bianca Christine." Anna says
    with tears in her eyes.

"Hey Maggie and Bianca…you’re beautiful just like your name sakes."
    David smiles sadly. >>>

Bianca breathes in deeply finally able to look at the picture
itself. She looks it over carefully before smiling, "They are
beautiful, Anna. They look like you both. I hope they live every
moment as if there isn’t another." She hands the photo back.

"We tell them about you two all the time. Sometimes I think they
understand even." Anna tears up, "I hope you don’t mind how we named
    them."

"Never, now I go on. Maggie would have loved it." Bianca ***** her
head to the side, "I guess we’ll always be together now even here."

"I hope so. Bianca I should really try to stop you." Anna returns
    the photo to her pocket.

"You can’t, Anna. Please don’t make it harder on yourself. Pretend
I was never here. You don’t know anything. It will be over soon."
Bianca turns away again. She begins walking toward the door of the
    house.

"I don’t know if I can." Anna heads back to her car. She watches a
dead woman she once loved disappear into the old house. She hangs
her head with tears before finally driving away.
