Spencer knew immediately who it was when the brunette skidded into the cubicle. Her face was white with worry and she looked like she’d run a mile. She probably had.
“Oh my god Spencer are you ok?” Ashley reached the bed in double time, a few nurses popping in through the curtains looking dismayed and frazzled.
“Miss, miss you can’t just…” one of them uttered, but Ashley ignored them, grasping Spencer’s hand in hers and looking frightened.
“Are you ok? I got your message I was…”
“Ash, Ash calm down” Spencer said, a little bemused. “I’m fine. They just won’t let me drive home is all.”
“Of course they won’t. They’re not crazy? Why are they letting you go? Should they be letting you go? You should stay a night. I’ll talk to a doctor, stay here. No wait, I’ll…” Ashley turned to leave and got about two steps into the journey.
“Ash for god sakes!” Spencer cut in with a stunned look and a laugh. “Calm down for a second you’re sending my blood pressure through the roof.”
That did it. Nothing like a little white medical lie to get Ashley Davies to stop in her tracks apparently.
“Oh god…” But not to completely stop fretting.
“Ashley shh, seriously, you’re gonna get kicked out. Come here.” Spencer reached out her hand and the brunette came back, threading her fingers through Spencer’s and sitting on the side of the bed. That earned her a glare from the nurse who roughly said “shh” and pulled the curtains shut.
Spencer, pale and interesting, leaned back on the pillows and enjoyed the feel of Ashley’s hand in hers. She should have known she’d get this response from her friend. Ashley was a worrier anyway, but when it came to Spencer…well, there didn’t seem to be any ceiling to where she’d fret. However, the hospital had made it clear that they wouldn’t let her drive home, and there was no way in hell she was calling her parents. So Ashley was the obvious next choice. Besides, Spencer would admit to feeling vaguely fragile and she was never very good at being sick. She had a tendency to go all soppy and want looking after. Her dad had always been her favorite person to have around, and she normally craved him when she was unwell. Today however, the only person she’d secretly wanted after was the brunette now sitting in front of her. So Spencer had given into herself and called.

Oh my. It looks like my post is near the end. Everyone else got their say in before I did. But that doesn’t mean I won’t say what I think. Never worry about that. I Thought this post was…idk. I’m speechless when it comes to this master piece of literature. Amazing. Never in a million years will I be able to write like you. Never, you are just to fucking incredible. I love this story to death and I love you to death for writing it. I’m overjoyed to be one of the privileged few (of 1000’s) to read this and have my name mentioned in your author notes. Lmao. For being speechless I sure have a lot to say. Ashley was so right to feel that she should have kicked Gray’s ass. I wanted to she her go crazy on him and beat the shizz outta him. That would have made my whole week. :) Ur astonishingly cool. My lord, I’m so emotional right now, I guess it’s close to that time of the month again, or so my brother mught say…He’s crazy. He thinks that whenever girls get overly opinionated or emottional that they have a large amount of hormones running through their bodies. Spencer’s pregnant and SHE’S handling all this relly well. He just need to grow up, don’tcha think. I didn’t mean for this to be such a huge comment but I had a lot on my mind. Please post more. It’s the only thing that’s gonna get me through this upcoming week. I head back to school, o the torture…
WOW! i’m so surprised ashley came out with wanting to move in! she loves being there with spencer and elly all the time, and that’s exactly what spencer needed from gray! holy crap i put so many exclamation points. gray totally got what was coming to him, his attitude sucks. he knows how much of a flake he’s been as a father, yet he doesn’t do anything about it. ‘uhhh phoenix’ uhhhh shut the fuck up gray. very nice scene!

Loved that chapter, it was amazing, ash getting to feel the baby kicking was just cute, shame gray had to turn up and be an ass, i mean who turns up at 9 to see a little kid, what an idiot, im glad they through him out! Cant wait for the next chapter, keep up the great work!

Clom, I love it, and love you, and hate the fact I have no time to post – this week I’ve got a shoot, 2 gigs, an essay and I’m going away for a while to work for a rather large car company’s creative/advertising team – get in! However, once Christmas commences, I shall return! Oh, small question you may be able to help with – was at a party last night, off my face, really really like (virtually bloody in love with, actually) this girl who is in actual fact gay and a close mate, although last night she pulled me, says she finds herself strangely attracted to me, considering, you know, she’s gay, and has only ever liked 2 guys in her life, and now she’s very confused. And now I’m confused! what to do?! *pouts* help me? lol. Jx

exhausted preggers…i’m familiar with that too, it’s ever changing here. at least ashley gets to deal with a consistent spencer. and spencer found her sun…whoo hoo. i’m so in love with nurturing, take charge, domestic ashley. what’s with these very pregnant women thinking they can do everything they did when they weren’t pregnant? (and some things they had never done in the first place…like moving large furniture along. gah.) elly was adorable helping ashley, taking care of spence. loved it. who doesn’t think gray is going to be a no show at the birth? although he is good at ruining things…and the birth should so be between spence and ash. are you going to do that for us clomle? thanks for the positive comments on my upcoming parenthood…yikers. we’ve only got four and a half weeks to go, but i’m thinking spence will beat us. which is good…maybe ashley will have some pointers for me. totally clueless here. i have to send a shout to bannerman…gay isn’t always a 100% deal. one of my great loves was/is a man…it was all about timing, and ours was off. Jesus has mobilized the Cloobers and they’re using their top-secret cyborg organism locating training to try and find your whereabouts. Likewise, the Thai beauty queen army is also mobilized and reconnecting with the Nepalese soldiers they met way back in the beginning of this story’s comment pages and are searching the mountain range you got lost in before. My uncle is about to begin his trek back over to Asia to help out, too – he just needs to finish the last leg of his amateur pop country music tour ::shudder shudder::. I, on the other hand, am comfortably resting with my baby. :) We shall provide the moral support and coordinate all the rescue efforts.

Great work, prolific work!! I can’t believe all the updates…and high quality none-the-less. You portray Gray perfectly. He would like to do it differently, but he can’t let go of all the goodies he gets from spending so much time at work. Too bad for him…Spencer would be soooo worth it. The only people who like workaholics are other workaholics…thank GOD neither of the girls are. Work doesn’t cuddle you in the middle of the night!! Ashley has been with Spencer through her whole pregnancy so she deserves to be with her and cut the cord. And they need to get out of Spencer’s house that shared with Gray so they can sleep together in bed every night. The baby needs the guest room Ashley is in right? I love this story so much. I can’t until the baby is born. I imagine Ashley doing the night feeding and spending more Elly while Spencer takes care of the baby.
