“Ashley. Will you have lunch with my parents on Sunday?” Spencer watched the brunette still in her colouring with Elly and look up. There was horror etched onto her face. “Oh for god sakes, it’s not like I asked you to have lunch with Lizzie Borden and her axe.” Spencer laughed.
“Uh.. um..” Ashley was cute tongue tied. “Me?” She managed to croak out.
“No, your left shoe. Yes you.”
“Uh… why?” Ashley’s brow creased, and Spencer resisted the urge to reach across and smooth across the lines with her thumb.
“Well, because I’d love them to meet you. And because I’d love you to come. And because my Dad invited you.”
“Your Dad knows about me?” Ashley looked even more afraid.
“Uh, yes. Why? Shouldn’t he?” It was Spencer’s turn to look confused.
“Well… I just… Uh…”
“Ashley, you have dinner here half the nights of the week. You spend most weekends with me and Elly. You’ve come to a good number of my ante-nate visits and you’re my best friend. Why would my parents NOT know of you?”
“I guess that’s a good point.” Ashley conceded. “I’ve just never thought of myself as parent meeting material.”
Spencer shook her head. Ashley’s uncertainties had been a little more pronounced over the last few months. Though she was still the same supportive friend she’d always been, Spencer had been able to discern more softness, and more fear in her friend. It was nothing Ashley said or did per se, but Spencer could tell that the brunette was careful with her words. Like she didn’t want to put a foot wrong. Except when it came to defending Spencer, when she came out like a tiger on fire. Spencer shook her head.
It, of course, had been Ashley who had been there for her for the last two months. Over half way through her pregnancy, Gray had drifted slowly back to his usual, no-show self. Spencer should have expected it, and it would have been easier to if he didn’t occasionally pop up and make an effort. Or at least an effort to reassure her that he intended to make an effort. And then said effort never materialized. He’d missed her last scan, although he’d given her due warning. It was a pity because the 20 week scan was the one where you really saw the baby. Spencer secretly hadn’t minded. She was so over Gray it wasn’t funny. Watching the fascination and tears in Ashley’s eyes at the site had made Spencer send up a prayer of thanks that her ex-husband was a workaholic. Gray was in Phoenix, and Ashley had been there by her side and that was exactly how things should have been.

Ash is sooooo movin’ in, which will take the “just friends” angst up a notch or two. Good drama!! I continue to applaud your story, your writing, and your time commitment! And btw…previous post is Caseygurlesque…if and when she ever writes again, we’ll all be comparing her to you :-D!! (A gentle nudge to the quiet gurl…wouldn’t it be cool to have a fanfiction write off?!! Perhaps only in my dreams :-(

I’m not sure if you fully understand just how much I love your posts. I love them more than…a lot of things. Too many things actually. If I wrote ’em all down i’d be here a while. And the whole “Sounding like a dying weasel” thing? Priceless. I loved it. And Finding Nemo. I love that too. I get all my knowledge about Australia from that particular video. :P Yay for CLOMLE!!!! hehe what a pleasant surprise to find so many updates on this fic after going away for a bit =). awwww that was such a cute and awesome update… one of the few where paula doesnt immediately bite ashley’s head off haha. keep up the good work, and doc? i’m slowly learning the simple pregnancy jargon in the fic so i wont look like an idiot next time such a related topic comes up in any conversation XD

i’m with ashley about how spencer will be managing on her own…my girlfriend is pregnant and she can’t tie her shoes or even sit up by herself sometimes. ashley just needs to move in already… but does she confess her undying love before or after? you can’t end the story here clomle-san. no no. and i still haven’t named my new car that is baby appropriate (no more lesbian pick up truck for me). larry’s a good name for a car. =) you said four days off…so that’s like 8 updates right?

Although get them together NOW, damnit! too much dancing around the issue – Ash should offer to move in to help with Elly and everything, and then all things can go on swimmingly from there, don’t you think? we call the classes ante-natal, btw :-) oh, and Elly is reminding me more and more of my nephew, whose version of Mr Ruffles is a Whinnie the Pooh Bear and a little bunny rabbit he calls Flopsy. I bet hands down he’s cuter than Elly – for a start he has really curly blonde hair and when he gets excited he dances :-P although seeing as I don’t see him for months at a time, Elly is doing a good job of reminding me of what it’s like to have him around! more soon please, I love it! :-D Jx

Its so great to come back from Thanksgiving and read my favorite story. And I didn’t miss the salad and garlic bread so thanks for the silent shot out. I don’t know where you’re going with this but, I love it. The last two chapters were excellant. Can you believe I was disappointed about having two days off because I wanted to read your next posts? I love Elly/Ashley/Spencer filled chapeters. And I’m so glad you took Gray away(even if just for now). Thank you for sparing us. I can’t believe Ashley and Spencer are still playing the friendship role but, I’m also glad that they feel so comfortable with each other. The three of them are like the perfect family. Please post more soon. BOOHOO on the not having sex part though, soon Spencer will be too big for some rough and wild sex. Why do I feel like something or someone is going to try to keep them a part? I hope Elly doesn’t freak after realizing Ashley is more than a friend. I can understand why my favorite couple can’t be offical right now, its bigger than Paula and Gray. I love the DRAMA:) pls pls pls pms
