“well yeah…” I told him

“horrible first question” Katie told him

“fine then you ask a better one” Aiden said

“how about we just don’t ask me questions?” I asked them

“no…” they both said at the same time

“what do you think is cute about her? And get specific” Katie told me

“everything…”

“uh…I’m pretty sure she said specific” Aiden said

“literally everything…I mean, the way she starts to kick when she wakes up in the morning, and…”

“woah since when have you guys had sex?” Katie asked

“we haven’t…” I told her

“you’ve gone six months without having sex?” Aiden asked shocked

“yeah…” I said

“sex isn’t everything” Katie said punching him

“it is when you’re with someone for six months…”

“we’re waiting for the right moment…” I told them

“aw that’s cute” Katie said

“ok…you can shut up now” I told her

A few hours later, I was lying in my bed trying to come to a few conclusions, and then I shot up and went to get my car keys “mom I’m running out” I told her

“ok honey…” she replied probably not even really hearing me because she was way to into her soap show

I drove over to Spencer’s house hoping she was still awake…but I was walking up to the front door when she came out “uh…hi?” she said laughing a little

“um…hey” I replied

“what are you doing here?” she asked

“uh…I don’t know exactly…I kinda just got into my car and ended up here…” I told her

“everything ok?” she asked

 “yeah why wouldn’t anything be ok?” I asked

“I dunno…you just have a weird look on your face…” she told me “something on your mind?” she asked standing in front of me

“uh…you know how sometimes people say it’s best to just tell someone something straight out?”

“yeah…?” she replied

“I think this is one of those times…” I told her

“well you’re rambling…” she said laughing at me

“…I love you” I told her simply

“what?” she asked caught off guard

“I love you…and not in a lets cuddle on the couch and eat popcorn kind of way…I mean in a, let you eat the last bit of cookie dough ice cream…hold a radio outside your window, think about you day and night kind of way that confuses me because I’ve never felt this way about anyone before…but Spencer, you’re one person that makes me laugh when I don’t even want to smile, and I love the way you kick when you start to wake up, and the way you tilt your head when you try to be cute and it works every time…and the fact that whenever I’m around you my heart beats out of my chest…” I told her “…so I guess to sum all that up…I’m in love with you” I said smiling at her out of breath then she looked at me blankly for a second then she didn’t say anything back which was ok, because I wanted her to say it back when she meant it…so I smiled at her, kissed her on the cheek then walked back to my car

“you know you’re the only person that makes my heart beat faster and slower at the same time?” she asked me

“what?” I asked her turning around

“you’re the only person that has ever made my heart beat faster and slower at the same time…” she repeated “…and even when I’m with you, I’m not freaking out about anything. and believe it or not, I do miss your horrible mac n’ cheese, and I can’t stand not being around you…that has to mean a little more than just being in a relationship for the hell of it right?” she asked me

“I think so…” I said to her

“you’re not the only one in love Ashley…” she told me and I smiled to wide and she smiled back at me

“you uh…you want to come over tonight?” I asked her

“yeah…” she replied “I’d love that” she added
