    Chapter Twelve – {Past Memories and Bad Dreams}

                Spencer unlocked the door of her dorm room and carefully stepped in, unsure if Chelsea was asleep.  Squinting into the darkness, Spencer realized Chelsea still hadn’t come home and she flicked the light on and kicked her shoes off before walking over to her bed.

                    “Hello?” Spencer finally answered the phone that had been ringing for the pass thirty minuets.

                    “Hey, baby, were you sleeping?” Natalie was on the other line.

                    “Yes,” Spencer lied.

                    “Okay, I’m sorry I woke you, just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
                    “Yeah, still not feeling well.  Gonna sleep it off.”

                    “Alright.  Feel better.  Call me in the morning.”

                    “Okay.”

                    “Night.”

                    Spencer hung up without a goodbye and let out a frustrated grunt into her pillow.  Spencer and Natalie had left Gia’s party not thirty minutes after Ashley had come over to speak to Spencer.  The girls hadn’t planned on spending much time at the party to begin with; having another party for a friend of Natalie’s to go to, but after the altercation, Gia started to give Spencer death stares.  Spencer told Natalie she wasn’t feeling well and asked to be taken home.

                    After convincing Natalie that she would be fine and that Natalie should go to the party for her friend without her, Natalie finally agreed and left Spencer in her dorm alone.  Spencer waited until she heard the unmistakable sound of Natalie’s engine roaring outside the gates of UCLA before calling a cab.  She didn’t know what she wanted to say to Ashley, but she knew she had to see her.  Even if nothing changed, she just needed to see the brunette and tell Ashley that she was hurting just as much.
