    Hi, my name is Spencer Carlin, and am I in heaven?

    “Spencer… Spencer, can you hear me?” a voice asked. My first thought was: ‘God? Is that you?’ But I was in too much pain to be in heaven, and it was a bit too cold to be hell. “She’s coming to, Dr. Campbell.” Well, I definitely wasn’t dead.

    I stirred around a bit. Big mistake. My ribs ached and my head was pounding. I opened my mouth to speak, but my throat felt dry. As if on cue, a straw appeared before me. I drank cautiously, but soon with more vigor as the water cooled my throat down.

    “Where am I?” I asked, my voice raspy. I opened my eyes, noting a doctor and probably a paramedic standing before me. A few more glances around and I realized I was on a bed in the hallway of a hospital.

    “You’re in Jamesville County Hospital in Franklin, Ohio, Miss Carlin,” one of the men told me. Ohio… and then it all came back to me. The plane… the crash… the pain. My eyes filled with tears as I tried to remember more.

    “What… what happened?”

    “Miss Carlin, what is the last thing you remember?”

    “The plane… the plane was going down… there was screaming and… and then… I don’t remember after that…” The room was spinning and I closed my eyes again, hoping to steady it. With every breath I took, it felt like a 2,000 pound man was sitting on my chest. I noticed my head was bandaged, as were small areas of my arms and legs.

    “Anterograde amnesia… mark that down, Troy.” I assumed this guy was the doctor. “Can you tell me where you’re experiencing pain, Miss Carlin?”

    “My head… my ribs…” I trailed off and opened my eyes again, glancing at the various bandages on my limbs. “What happened?”

    “Are you having difficulty breathing?”

    “Y-yeah, sort of… it… it hurts.”

    “Nausea?”

    “A little bit,” I said.

    “I’m going to need to see her CAT scan and chest CT’s when they’re ready. Do a recheck on her vitals; I should be back shortly,” the doctor said. The other guy… paramedic? Nurse? Whatever. He stayed, so I figured I’d start asking.

    “Can you… can you tell me what happened?”

    “I don’t know all of the details, but your pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on a farm about ten minutes from here. The strip of land wasn’t nearly long enough, and the plane hit a patch of trees fairly hard. If I’m reading correctly, it says here that you… fainted before the landing and the impact thrust your head into the seat in front of you,” he told me, looking at my chart. My head was swimming as I tried to remember all of this, but I couldn’t.

    2. damn straight you arent gonna waste it young lady!! i do hope someone had the sense to call ashley too. because otherwise someones gonna be going ballistic… hahaha aww poor koz, sick huh? well, dont feel bad, i’m not feeling well either. but we all knew you wouldnt kill spence off!! cuz if you had..you would’ve had some visitors at your door step lol! feel better soon!! great update by the way.

    5. Right in the middle of reading this, the spaghetti I had on the stove was boiling over and I just didn’t care. Who’s story could have me so enthralled that I’d ruin dinner? Only you! Get well soon :D

Diein to know what ashley is gonna do next, or during those 72 hours lol Spence is in dire need of some TLC :P Also happy that spencer remembers everything lol not that one could forget ashley Get well Soon can’t wait for the next chapter :)

    8. When I saw that you updated I was totally going to yell at you for not posting for so long. But then I read that you were sick so I thought I should be nice. Sorry you were sick and I forgive you for not posting right away as requested. Hope you are feeling better now. On to the story, I can not WAIT for the reunion between Spencer and Ashley. Something tells me that is going to be extremely emotional. So now that Spencer received her wake up call lets hope she heads back to L.A. and Ashley permanently. Great update and PMS!!!!!!!!!!

    11. I started reading this story at 11 pm last night and after about 9 hours of sleep in between i just finished. I had avoided reading this story because well honestly, the tagline never hooked me. But I’m actually really thankful that clomle didn’t post yesterday and drove me to read this. I’m officially obsessed with this FF (and that’s saying something because no many fics hold that honor, typically it’s just clomle’s stuff that holds that honor). I’ve spent the last thirteen hours in bed because of this fic so i just want to thank u profusely for being awesome and having a great imagination. I also want to apologize profusely for doubting your ff based on solely the tagline. Thanks for 39 amazing posts and I can’t wait for more.
