Decoy – (Chapter: Chapter 3)
“I have the results” She had a manila envelop waiting to be sliced open so we could see what answers it was containing. “The results came back…”
“Yes?” I insisted still eager to know what they came back as.
“Positive” She replied handing me the envelop for proof reading.
“What? This can’t be?” I was so confused and I had so many emotions coming and going all at once.
“Calm down Ash its ok” Spencer came closer to hug me and I gave in, too much in shock to refuse.
“I’m sorry we couldn’t tell you earlier Ashley, you wouldn’t have believed us if they were there” My Dad came closer and Spencer let go and I couldn’t control it I had hugged him and for some stranger reason I felt complete.
“It’s ok, at least I know you now” I replied shockingly adjusting.
“Ashley we always loved you and regretted the day we had to leave you behind” Mom came in coming closer for her embrace.
“I’ll leave you guys to getting to know each other then” Jen said before leaving.
“Wait up I’m coming to Jen” Spencer called after her and smiled back at me.
“Why, I don’t…I’m so lost” I told them as I sat down on the previous chair I was on with Spencer across obviously replaced by two concerned parents.
“Well you see, it happened when you were about 3 years old” My Dad started.
Flashback
We were sitting in the kitchen since we had just got up, we noticed you were out of your crib since you were a sneaky child, literally like you wouldn’t keep still. So me and your Mom got up to your room after hearing a thump and crying.
“Awh Ash, it’s alright Mommy’s here” Christine told he holding her daughter in her arms while I kneeled beside them and ran my hand through her brown hair.
“It hwurts” Ashley replied rubbing her head.
“Want Mommy to kiss it better?” She asked and Ashley nodded while my wife placed kisses on her head.
“It tickwles” Ashley said giggling
“I’m glade you’re better now, wouldn’t want sneaky Ashley bruised” I told her and she smiled.
