Everything And Nothing – (Chapter: The great newspaper dillema)

The picture was a clear one and you could definitely see Spencer’s face. Panic began to overtake Ashley’s body. Keely jumped around on the bed, rolling under Ashley’s shaking hands. Spencer looked her with blue eyes filled with worry.

“What are we going to do? My Mom always reads the paper! I mean she never ever skips it,” Spencer was close to tears and Ashley reached out for her.

“What time does she normally get up?” Ashley asked fingering the blonde tips of Spencer’s hair.

“In about thirty minutes,” Spencer said checking her watch. Ashley sat on the bed, patting Keely absently and then snapped her fingers suddenly.

“I’ve got a plan! Come with me,” the two girls rushed down the stairs as quietly as they could and slipped on their shoes by the front door. Ashley pulled Spencer outside into the early morning light. It was still cool outside and Ashley felt goose bumps raise up on her bare arms.

“Okay babe, here’s what we’re gonna do. Go and get the papers off of every single lawn and we’re gonna put them in your Tahoe. That way it looks like the papers weren’t delivered to your neighborhood.”

“Well what if she wants to go get one at like a 7-11 or something?” Spencer said biting her bottom lip.

“Got it covered, we’re gonna go buy em out. I knew there was a reason why I have a platinum card. It’s my calling.” For the first time that morning Spencer smiled. The two girls got to work and within fifteen minutes had cleared all the papers from the block. They shoved all the papers into the back of Spencer’s Tahoe and jumped into the front seats. Ashley reached over and turned the volume up on the radio blasting Kelly Clarkson’s latest single.

“I love this song!” Spencer yelled over the music. Ashley rolled her eyes and smiled.
