“Spencer! WAIT! God, I swear it’s going to be okay! Don’t run away from this, not now!!” Ashley felt tears burning behind her eyes and she tried desperately to keep up with Spencer. Rain poured down around them and the girls were soaking wet. It’s amazing how one single moment can ruin a whole week of good moments. Ashley had her fair share of arguments and disagreements but nothing like this. This she couldn’t take back, or apologize away. It had happened and it could not be changed. Spencer raced through the rain, the salty tears on her face mixing with the cold raindrops. How could this have happened? Dread crept through Ashley’s body like a lethal toxin, slowly killing all hope for survival. Spencer finally stopped in the middle of the street and whirled around staring directly into Ashley’s eyes.

“Tell me what to do. I don’t know what to do and I’m so scared,” Spencer’s body was wracked with sobs as Ashley came forward to hold her. At first she resisted the embrace but soon she had melted into Ashley’s arms clutching her like her she was the last person left on the planet. If only I could turn back time. I would go back and I would change all of this.  Ashley closed her eyes softly soothing Spencer.

Three Days Previously

            Sunlight pierced the small room and Ashley cracked one groggy eye open to look around. She had fallen asleep in Spencer’s room last night after going to the club. Barely moving she swiped her brunette curls out of her dark eyes. Instantly she realized that she had fallen asleep in Kristen’s bed and that Kristen was on the floor. Ashley felt a rush of guilt at the fact that Kristen had fallen asleep on the floor. Quietly she gathered her pillow and blanket and tried to escape without being noticed. However, she paused to look at Spencer who looked even more beautiful sleeping than she did while she was awake if that was even possible. They had had a wonderful time at Heaven last night, dancing and talking until the early morning hours. I can’t feel this way about her already. I hardly even know her. She’s just another girl. Nothing special. Yet as she tried to convince herself she felt her heart grow warm at the sight of her sleeping peacefully and she yearned to be in bed with her. Ashley finally made it to the door and tried to open it quietly. Unfortunately her James Bond days were over because the door made the loudest squeak she had ever heard in her life. Spencer looked up and Ashley could see the questions in her eyes.
