Something wierd was going on with that Edward Cullen. Every time I thought something funny, he laughed. If I got angry with someone, he'd make them stop annoying me, even if I didn't show it. But whatever's going on, it looked like it was getting harder for him. Good, because I kept getting this pain in my head every time he worked out what I'm thinking. It's not just him that's wierd. All of them are way too graceful and fast. And they keep saying that they aren't related, but they all have the same colour eyes and skin. And I'm sure I saw Emmet lifted up his Mercedes when he dropped his keys. But of course, I wouldn't be able to have seen clearly, because he was SO QUICK!!! Esme was making breakfast (for me, not the Cullens – they don't eat at all!) this morning, and when she got some ice cubes out of the freezer to put in my orange juice, they didn't melt at all. I'd like to see someone try and tell me that the Cullens are perfectly normal. Edward's girlfriend, Bella, seems fine with it all. I asked her about it all this morning, and she changed the subject so fast, I couldn't remember what I'd been talking about.
"Ow!" I gasped involuntarily as I felt the pain in my head again. He'd been in my head again. Sure enough, a few moments later, Edward, who had been in the living room with me, turned to me and smiled.
"You know, I've been getting the impression that you think that we are not . . . the most normal family." he reassured me. I rolled my eyes.
"I'd appreciate it if you actually had got the impression, instead of taking it directly from my head!" a voice retorted. I clapped a hand to my mouth as I realised it was me. Edward frowned.
"Excuse me?"
"Oh, erm . . ." but I knew it was no use pretending it was a mistake – he'd heard me loud and clear. "It's just . . . It's . . . wheneverIthinkanythingyoualwaysreacttoitandanswerquestionsI'mthinkingofwithoutmeactuallysayingthem!" I gabbled, biting my lip before I could say anything else. Edward frowned again, his paper – white forehead creasing.
