Expect the Unordinary – (Chapter: 10)

    Ashley’s POV:

Getting up at 6 is an ungodly hour; personally I think it should be illegal.

“Ashley! Get your ass up for school!” I hear my mom yell from the bottom of the stairs.

    “I’m up, I’m up!” I shout back.

I lazily get up out of bed, gather my clothes and go to the bathroom to get ready. About 45 minutes later, I’m dressed and ready for school, unfortunately… I make my way down the stairs, and see my dad placing our breakfast’s on the table. I smile and mumble a thank you, while I take my seat, and begin eating. When I finish I let Mud outside to go to the bathroom, and that my friends is my morning routine.

“Bye mom, bye dad!” I shout as I head out the door, my backpack on my shoulder. I walk a block until I meet up with Spencer.

“Hey you” She greets me with a warming smile.

“Hey” I reply, with a smile also. We walk causally side by side, until she speaks.

“So, what are we going to do? I mean are we like going to tell anyone about us?” She asks looking at the ground.

“Depends, if you want people to know, sure, but you don’t have to tell anyone yet you know. It’s not like you can shout to people that you’re gay. Well you could… But not many people will take it so well; there will be those, who may act like Stacy, possibly worse. So I can understand if you don’t want anyone to know right away.” She nods understandingly.

“But there will be people, who will be ok with us, aren’t there?” She asks, worried that the answer is no.

“Yeah, course. There are a lot of people out there who are great.” She smiles.

“Hey guys!” Abbey says running to catch up to us. I smile at her.

“Hi Abbey” Spencer greets her with a smile.

“Hey” We all continue walking to school.

“So, are we just going to ignore her while passing her house or something?” Abbey asks while kicking a rock down the side walk.

“We could just take the next street” Spencer suggests with a shrug. We nod, and pass Stacy’s street… I almost feel bad for her, but then again she brought this on herself.
