I beamed at Bella, at least she seemed pleased and that was good. This had been dreadful for me. I should not have been so selfish as to remain in her life. What have I cost her that she doesn't even know she misses yet. I groaned thinking to myself in my own hell, feeling nothing but remorse for where I failed her.
Esme put a reassuring hand on my shoulder and stroked my hair. I peered out the window where Bella had just done a back flip to the ground from. "Edward it's all right, this is what Bella has been dreaming of you know," she thought to me, smiling before chiming in "She is so vivacious, I have never seen anyone happier Edward, really. "
Esme hugged me pecked me on the cheek. "Don't be to hard on yourself, we all love Bella, this makes it easier on everyone. Now you will never need to worry again." With that she was slipping out the door to leave Carlisle and myself to think.
Alice was sitting silent on the sofa in my room looking out the window in her own little world, thinking of nothing oddly enough. "Alice have you seen how Charlie is going to react?" I broke he silence of her mind half laughing. Maybe, despite the fact that we had not figured out what we would say to him, she saw it. It pained me that we had to make Bella disappear from her world; Forks, school, and even Charlie.
"Sorry Edward, nothing yet you need to make up your mind," Alice smiled sweetly at me adding "You know that." Now she was getting up to stand with Carlisle and me for our brain storming session.
"Maybe I can help with something it's not gonna look good if you are gone and she is gone," Alice thought as she stood next to me with her hand on my shoulder. She knew this was hard on me. Even though she told me many times she saw Bella a vampire with us, she knew how livid it made me. The idea of Bella being one of us, taking her soul, her life away, made me ill.
