First to break – (Chapter: Looks can be deceiving)

I contemplated chasing her, but as my heart rate settled once more, tiredness washed over me once again, and sleep embraced me.

Only sleep didn’t embrace me; it kept me hanging there for God knows how long, wondering how the hell I was going to rectify the situation.  I repeatedly swore under my breath, tossing and turning between the sheets as I tried to calm down, but I was failing miserably and only succeeded in winding myself up even more.  Spencer had been the one to heat me up, and she was damn well going to be the one to cool me down again.  I threw the sheets back with conviction, and stomped from my room, wondering where the tease had got to.

“Sencer!” I yelled, glad my mom was away as it would have almost certainly have woken her.  “Spencer, where are you?”

“What do you want?” se called from down the hall.

I followed the sound and found her tucked up in the guest room, looking tiny and vulnerable in the king size bed.  Looks can be deceiving, I thought, she’s hardly vulnerable, sweet or innocent.  She’s a horny minx… another thing we have in common.

“Come back to bed,” I requested, to which she shook her head.

“I’m in bed,” she said petulantly.

“I mean, come back to my bed,” I spelled out.

    “No,” she stated simply.

“Why not?” I asked, trying to sound indifferent, but just managing to sound desperate and whiny.

“I already told you, I’m not sleeping with you,” she said smugly, blatantly trying to rile me up.  It worked.

“So instead you lead me on, play with my feelings, then walk away?” I asked.

    “Yes,” she sighed.

    “You’re being a bitch,” I said resolutely, “and you’re a tease.”

“I’m sorry,” she said, not sorry at all.  I wanted to make her sorry.

“No you’re not,” I frowned.  “You don’t realize what you’re doing to me, do you?  This is hard for me!”

“What’s so hard about it?” she asked.  “You finding it difficult cos I’m not some skank who’ll put out immediately?”

“I’m finding it hard because I really like you and you’re just playing with me,” I yelled, hoping it’d get through her stubborn exterior.

“Don’ try to sweet talk me,” she said.  “Just ‘cos you’re saying the right things doesn’t mean you’ll not abandon me first thing in the morning.”

    5. UH-OH! And Bannerman takes a shot out into right field and it might just GO. ALL. THE. WAY. And to think! Clomle is probably off somewhere oblivious to the fact that the smack that is about to go down! (And oh! How down it will go.) SHAZAM!

    7. Quick note before rest of post – forgive my constant mispellings and bad grammar. Jesus has forgiven me and YOU SHOULD, TOO!…And now back to our regularly scheduled comment…Actually, here in Pennsylvania, I was able to drive when I was 15! The laws have changed since and you have to be 16 now, but I enjoyed it when I could. Actually, you CAN vote at 18 and you are no longer a minor. You just can’t drink until your 21 or rent a car until you’re 25. WTF, I know. You can be drafted into war, buy a gun – actually up to 5 handguns a week with only a 10 minute background check – vote for office, and be considered an adult for all intensive purposes at 18, but NOT buy a freakin’ beer. Go figure. God bless America! ::waves flag and shots recently acquired glock into air wildly::

    9. Goob, you’re a ledge, and are proving to me more and more that I am right in my belief that America sucks arse! No offense anyone, I merely share the world’s opinion of your country, lol. Although it did make SON so I can’t dislike it too much ;-)

    11. That’s right, yo! We’re gonna be watching the brand spankin’ new season of SON while you’ll be crying in your room temperature beer! HA! And hey, there are a shitload of things that piss me off about the U.S. ::cough:cough::everyone in power right now::cough:: but it still has it’s good points. (Our judges don’t wear silly little wigs, for one!) There are a hell of a lot of worse places to live. Like Iraq! Or Afganistan! HA! Poor fools! What the hell happened to THEIR countries? ……….Oh wait. DAMN! :( Hey, at least when I go to Britain, everyone thinks I’m either British or Swedish (despite my accent which they choose to ignore for some odd reason). I’ve had many a socks and sandals, shorts and soccer jerseyed Brit on vacation in London come up and ask me directions. It always made me giggle. Teehee!

    15. To be honest, that’s cool – better they think you’re a Brit than a yank – you’d be in for some serious piss taking if they realised your true nationality ;-) Plus, what is this belief that we Brits like hot/luke warm drinks? Mosta the beer we drink is actually called ‘extra cold’, and most people I know hate tea! so there :-P Plus, when I’m abroad I like to look more like a native, especially when I’m seeing family in Italy, so none of this socks/sandals/shorts bollocks! Plus I think it’s only crown court judges that wear the silly as fuck wigs! and it’s football, not soccer! everwhere else calls it football and it’s about time the yanks did too! :-P

    17. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. I’m just messing with you, ya chump! Every beer I ever had in England was pretty damn ice cold, which was nice. I know more Americans that drink tea than Brits. Yadda yadda. And besides – most Americans I know aren’t very pleased with America either. Hence the 32% approval rating for how our country is handling EVERYTHING right now. We’re failing ourselves. In the words of Steven Colbert as he addressed George W. Bush directly in a speech – “Mr. President, your approval ratings are somewhere around 30%. Many people might say that that means the glass is half empty. I, on the other hand, say that the glass is actually 2/3 empty. And I wouldn’t drink that last bit either. It’s probably backwash.”
