It’s the second day of school I’m in my English class. It’s the only class I share with Jamie. Ever since she came into our lives it’s made Ashley uneasy. I try to help but I can’t mainly because I haven’t gone through the things she’s going through. If I had found out that I had a sister that my dad conceived with another women I would be heartbroken. Especially if I received the news after finding out that my father died. But it was even more difficult seeing how she didn’t really have a good relationship with her father and now she never will. So it was understandable how she took it.

FLASHBACK

Setting: Ashley’s room. Ash is on the floor rummaging through boxes under her bed

“Ashley” Spencer whispers

“Spence I meant what I said on the phone I’m fine you didn’t have to come over” Ashley said her voice filled with a mix of annoyance and gratefulness

“How can you kid yourself like that? How can you sit there and lie to me? Your not fine Ashley you can’t be you just found out that your father died”

Ashley snorts “father? Father! He was never a real father, not like yours he was NEVER around he can never make up for what he did to me”  Ashley starts to sob. Spencer upon seeing her like that rushed over to her and embraced her.

“That bastard got out easy and now he never has to deal with me” Ashley looked up to the sky

“You hear that dad I’m no longer your problem….I fucking hate you”

“Don’t say that baby he loved-“Spencer’s sentence was cut short

“Loved me! Spencer for the past hour I’ve been searching for ….for anything that connects me to my dad. Look at these pictures from when I was younger…….none of them show family pictures theres me and my nannies, they’ve always fucking pay someone else to be with me. Why didn’t he want to get to know me Spence?”

Spencer is speechless how’s she suppose to answer that
