From Spangs to Spashley – (Chapter: Chapter Eleven)

“So I was able to talk to Ashley,” Spencer began. She’s willing to give our friendship a second chance, so we’re still in each other’s lives.

“Is that what you both agreed on?” asked Glen. A “friendship”?

“No, I was the one who suggested a friendship,” Spencer answered.

“Do you want to be friends with her or do you want to be more with her?” questioned Glen.

“I’m not sure what I want,” Spencer responded with a sigh. Do I want Ash as a friend or do I want more than just a friendship?

“You and I both know that you want the second one,” stated Glen. So why don’t you ask Ashley out already? You two aren’t getting any younger.

“Like on a date?” Spencer asked.

“Yeah, like on a date,” answered Glen. There’s no harm in that. It’s a step forward for you and Ashley.

“True, there’s no harm in asking her out,” Spencer agreed. You may have a point, big brother. Thanks. Spencer kissed Glen on his cheek and walked away.

Awhile later, Spencer walked up to Ashley. “Hey Ash,” said Spencer. How’s it going?

“Hey,” Ashley said. I’m fine. How about you? Are you okay, Spence? You seem a little off right now.

“I’ve n-never been better actually,” replied Spencer. I have a question to ask you. Ashley urged Spencer to continue and she caressed Spencer’s cheeks.

“What’s up?” Ashley asked with curiosity.

“W-would you like to go out with me tonight, Ashley Davies?” questioned Spencer. It’s something casual. We could go eat pizza, have a rematch in foosball. Ashley looked surprised, but a smile formed on her lips.

“Wow, I didn’t think you would ask me that, but I’m glad you did,” Ashley stated with a smile.

“Is that a yes?” asked Spencer with hopefulness in her voice.

“Yes, it is a yes,” Ashley answered. Are you sure you want to go on a date with me?

“Yeah, I am,” said Spencer. I wouldn’t ask you out just because. Look, you wanted us to go somewhere, right? We could try going on a date and see where things go from there?

“It sounds like a plan to me,” Ashley replied. You won’t regret it. I’ll pick you up at 6:30.
