    Uh-oh spaghettio’s…

    I let her in… finally. And it was amazing. I don’t know why, but something in her voice just let me know that everything would be okay. All thoughts of Carly and what I had done seemed to dissipate with her touch. I was truly over it.

    After leaving the shower and getting dressed, we headed to a café for something to eat. On the way, I spotted a magazine whose cover picture was Ashley and I kissing on the frozen lake a couple nights ago.

    “Look,” I showed her. The headline read ‘The only thing cold is the weather!’

    “So corny… but I love the picture,” she said with a grin.

    “Me too.” She decided to buy it and tucked into her bag until we were sitting at a table. “What does it say?”

    “’Amid rumors of a break-up, Ashley Davies and girlfriend Spencer Carlin show everyone that they are, in fact, doing just fine.’”

    “Well, they got something right,” I remarked as I kissed her.

    “Yup, they did.” I threw my arms around her, leaning my head on her shoulder as she kissed my hair. “So what are you up to today?”

    “Well I have an interview for an internship at this Community Center in midtown.”

    “Really?”

    “Yeah. My academic advisor said I need to get more experience or it’ll be really hard for me to get a job after graduation.”

    “I thought you weren’t graduating until next year?” she inquired.

    “I know, but the longer you can work somewhere, the better it looks on a resume,” I explained.

    “Oh… well, good luck. I know you’ll get it.”

    “Thanks… I hope so.”

    “Wait. So, are you going to have to do this all summer, too?” she asked.

    “Well assuming I even get it, yeah, I think so.”

    “Oh.” Her demeanor immediately changed; I could tell she was upset with this.

    “Ash, I haven’t even gotten the job yet. Don’t get upset,” I said softly.

    “I know… I’m getting ahead of myself,” she said. She glanced at her watch. “I’ve got to head over to the studio, but I love you, and call me to let me know how it goes.”

    “I love you too. And I will.” She kissed me goodbye and I watched her throw her hood and sunglasses on to avoid recognition. I knew that if I even got this job, which was a slim chance to begin with because it was evidently a competitive position, it would mean not seeing Ashley for a pretty long time. She was touring again this summer and while she didn’t have a definitive schedule yet, I figured it would probably be the same deal as last year. But I also knew that I couldn’t spend another summer on tour with her, no matter how much I wanted to; I needed to be ready for real life once I graduated.

    17. Oh, by the way, i’m not sure it’s the drama that causes the rating to drop. I get the feeling someone just runs through and throws a few one stars in on everyone’s because if you lurk (ok, ok, i lurk), you sometimes see a whole run of people’s stories go down a star. I guess someone just thinks it’s funny. Your stories are 5 star anyway and that may be a burden you have to live with.

I just hope that they will be okay and Ashley will forgive her and you are correct, MAKE-UP SEX is sooo hot and sexy and GREAT!!!!!
