Haunting in Ohio – (Chapter: Painting The Town)

As I was downing the fruity liquid I heard a thud, thud, thud from upstairs and I froze. Oh my damn!

    ************************************************************************************************

Spencer: Damn you glen for leaving me here

I muttered under my breath. The bumping got louder and I slid off the counter and went to the utility drawer. I grabbed my mom’s flashlight. I checked it to make sure it worked and then made my way up the stairs.

I climbed the stairs one at a time, in no hurry to meet the friendly neighborhood ghost. As I got in the hallway the banging was clearer and I realized it as coming from the attic. Oh boy. I made my way down the long hallway. Now I know what you’re thinking…are you crazy? And yes I am. As soon as I heard that banging I should have got my scrawny ass out of this damn house but I couldn’t extinguish my curiosity. In my head, I was screaming for my legs to stop and go back the other way but they wouldn’t listen. They carried me all the way down the hall and to the attic door. It was already cracked and that right there should have told me get the fuck out of there.

I pushed the door open and a shiver ran through my body…not good. I thought. As soon as the door was open, the banging stopped. There wasn’t much light on the stairway up due to the fact that there was only one window up there and it was covered up. Hence the flashlight. My mom said she was going to take down the paper from it, but never got around to it. I clicked on the flashlight and pointed it at the stairs that led up to the attic. It looked like it was a long ways up and I took a deep breath. Here goes nothing. I inched into the darkness, flashlight firmly in my hand, lighting the way up. Just when I was about to put my foot on the first step up the doorbell rang, seriously scaring the loving bejesus out of me. I backed out of the door way and shut it. I leaned against the hard wood of the door clutching my chest. I swear my heart was going to jump out of my chest, I saw so scared. The doorbell rang again and I blew out the breath I had been holding in.
