Honey and the Moon – (Chapter: Chapter One: I See That Look In Your Eyes.)

    Chapter One

The moment I felt her lips on mine, it was like the world around us just dropped away. We were just Spencer and Ashley. No homophobic family members, no judgmental high school students, no labels. Nothing. Just two people. I could of stayed like that forever. Actually, I wish I would of stayed like that forever. But like always, all good things must come to an end. Which brings me to where I am right now. But, we might as well do this right and start at the beginning.

We broke the kiss once oxygen was seriously becoming an issue. When we broke apart, there was so much I wanted to say. So much I needed to say. But my nerves got the best of me. I looked away, finding the floor much more interesting.

“Ash, is everything okay?” She asked me.

I stood up, and walked over to the window. Pressing my forehead against the glass and closing my eyes, I let out a frustrated sigh. Why wasn’t anything ever easy. I knew exactly how I felt, and after that kiss I was pretty she felt that same way. I was just about to open my mouth and pour my heart out when Spencer’s phone started to ring.

    “Hi Dad…I’m just at Ashley’s…Oh just watching a movie…Um, okay…Yeah, I’ll be waiting outside…See you in a bit then.”

She closed her phone and starred at it. Without looking up she told me that her Dad was on his way to pick her up. I wondered why she didn’t stick up to him and tell him she was staying here, but I never said anything. I watched her get up and grab her sweater off the desk. She looked over at me, clearly waiting for me to say something.

“Well, I’ll see you at school tomorrow I guess?” I mumbled without even looking at her. There was so much more that I had to say, but I was starting to second guess her feelings.

As soon as I said that I regretted it, because she just whispered ‘yeah’ and left my room. Half of me wanted to chase after her, but I just kept looking out the window. I saw her Dad pull up and just as she was about to get into the passenger seat she looked up at me. It almost looked like she wanted me to come down and stop her, but instead I shut the blinds and walked away.
