Final Good-bye

Tory’s POV

It was my last day at King High. On Wednesday I was moving back to Utah. I drove home in the rain and ran up to my room and lay on my bed which was surrounded boxes. I stared at the wall where poster once hung. I dozed off into a deep sleep which I wished would never end.

Spencer’s POV

Ashley and I were driving home from a party that was exactly like all of the other ones we have been to. "You look beautiful tonight Spencer." she said with a smile on face. She still didn’t know how I felt about her. I wanted to tell her but I just couldn’t, I didn’t want her to hate me. "Thanks." I was trying to tell her the words ‘I love you’ all night but I kept getting nervous whenever I tried to. "Spencer I love," At that moment her phone rang. "Damn! Hi mom..no mom…okay…whatever..ALRIGHT! Bye."

"So what is it you want to tell me?"

"I-I love you." The words seemed to just swim around in my head repeating itself over and over.

"I love you too Ashley." We pulled up to my house and ran up to my room.

Tory’s POV

I awoke from my cell phone blaring the song ‘Drive’ into my ear. "Hello?"

"Hey Tory." Spencer said

"Hi Spencer. What’s up?"

"Oh, nothing. Do you want to come over to my place tonight?"

"Sorry I cant."

"Why?"

"Um..uh..I just can’t."

"Oh okay. I’ll just call ya later."

"Alright."

"Bye." I sat up in my bed and sat there for a few minutes "Hey mom, I’ll be back later!" I ran to my car and started the engine and drove towards Spencer’s house. I pulled up into the driveway and walked up to the door.

"I thought you couldn’t come over tonight?"

"I told my mom that I’d be here for a while."

"Well at least you came over." We went into Spencer’s room, Ashley had started a movie and was sitting on Spencer’s bed. " Finally you come over."

"I can only stay for a little while."

‘Why?" Spencer asked

"I’m moving back to Utah on Wednesday. So I have to finish packing tomorrow."

"Why are you moving back?"

"My parents thought it was more family oriented there."

"Oh."

Spencer’s POV

I couldn’t believe that Tory was moving back. She was one of my best friends ever! "So, can you hang out tomorrow?"

"I don’t know."

"Okay."

"Promise me something?"

"Anything."

"Stop by my house tomorrow morning, my parents still have to go get their final paycheck."

"Sure." The next morning we went over to her house to say our final good-bye. Her house seemed empty, it looked like the house was just built. We helped Tory put the rest of her things in boxes and carried them out to the moving van. "So this is it." I said trying not to cry.

"Don’t worry I’ll visit every summer."

"I never really liked you much but, I’m sad to see you go." Ashley said trying to sound like Dominique from D.E.B.S.

Tory’s POV

My parents pulled up into the driveway and signaled for me to get in the car.

"I’ll see you later." I said looking back to Spencer and Ashley. I climbed into the Ford and drove away not looking away from my best friends until they were out of sight. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a picture of the three of us after on of my softball games and smiled. "Don’t worry hun, Utah will be better for us." my mom said

"Nowhere can be better than here." I said to myself.
