I Could Never Forget About You – (Chapter: Stay like this)

    I’m glad you called.”

“I’m sorry for being such an idiot.”

“You weren’t an idiot.” She wasn’t being one, honestly.

Oh, you probably want to know where we are right? Well we’re…somewhere…eating lunch, or dinner…or whatever you want to call it, we’re just eating. But it’s good I finally get to talk to her, I know it’s only been a day, but when you see that person for most of the day…you kind of tend to miss them.

But you probably know that, so yeah, never mind.

“Yeah right,” She scoffs. “There’s just so much shit going on right now.”

“Believe me I know.” I do, and it definitely sucks. Well not for me, it mostly sucks for her. All of these weddings going on and all that stuff…not so much fun.

“So you heard about Aiden and Kyla getting married next month?” She asks, her eyes never leaving mine which I’m thankful for.

“Yep, got the invite a few days ago,” I take a sip of my coke, tapping on the table with my free hand.

“Sorry I didn’t tell you…they uh…they didn’t want me to.” She sends me an apologetic smile.

“Ash, it doesn’t matter to me.” I place my hand over her forearm.

“How was coffee with Aiden?” She asks. Wow, I definitely forgot it was this afternoon that I had coffee with Aiden.

“Good, great actually. After I apologized it was just like any other time.” I tell her.

“That’s great,” She shows off her genuine smile. Where the hell is our food? I want my fries, I haven’t eaten all day, all I’ve done is drink, drink, drink. Not alcohol of course, you know…the coffee, and now the soda.

“He told me you practically picked out the ring.” I say after a couple moments of just gazing at each other.

“Yep, all me. That’s probably why she liked it so much, he didn’t know shit.” I smile still unable to imagine Ashley picking out an engagement ring.

                    “Look at you taking initiative.”

“We would have been there all day if I let him do it all.” She does get impatient; every time we go shopping and I take just a tad bit longer than the previous store, she shoos me out.
