One Month Later

            She sat down at her father’s desk in his office, the computer already running. She watched as the pictures changed from one to the other. Pictures of her when she was younger, of her mother and her father and of her sister who was still in Los Angeles. She took a deep breath and double clicked on the key that would lead her to the internet. She figured she probably had some emails from her work. Maybe not though since she did own the record company after all. They knew how the game went; they could take care of it themselves. There was only one person that knew where she was. One person that she trusted in all of the world, well, other than Spencer. A small smile crossed her lips as she logged onto her email page.

            There were one hundred and eight new unread emails. Some were junk mail, others were from her Facebook page notifying her that she had new messages from friends and such, and there were 3 from him. Aiden. She thought to herself as she opened the first email.

            Ash, Spencer is fine. She’s been working non stop at the label and I think she is going to sign a couple of new artists. They’re amazing Ashley, I’m sure you would love them. When are you coming home? She really misses you even though she says she doesn’t. I don’t know what to say anymore Ash. I just don’t know.

            She frowned as she hit delete. She opened the next two and they were pretty much the same thing. Him telling her that Spencer missed her and that he wanted her to come home. But all that she cared about was that Spencer was doing okay. That’s what really mattered. She closed down the internet and leaned back in the chair and closed her eyes. Do I even want to go back? Should I go back? What is it that I’m so afraid of? Spencer and I have been together for almost 10 years, why am I so afraid to commit to her? Her head began to hurt.

            “Ashley! Phone!” her mother yelled from down stairs. She opened her eyes and picked up the phone next to the computer.
